First Aid Guide 1-525

The First Aid skill is a secondary profession in World of Warcraft which can be learned by every character regardless of their choice of primary professions. It’s easy to level, requiring only pieces of cloth which can be gathered from enemies across the world or purchased on the Auction House. First Aid remains a significant skill in the Cataclysm expansion as it allows characters to heal themselves even if they don’t have any healing spells. It’s an easy profession to overlook, but often a valuable one to have.

This guide will walk you through how to level the First Aid profession from 1 to 525 in Cataclysm Classic, taking you from Apprentice to Illustrious Grand Master. We’ll list the materials you’ll need and tell you where to train. Let’s get bandaging!

Notes

• The material quantities listed are approximate. If you get lucky with your skill-ups you may not use as much cloth, but it’s also possible that you will need to purchase more.
• Cloth can be farmed by killing humanoids of the appropriate level. It can also be purchased from the Auction House. Be sure to purchase raw cloth and not the bolts that are used for Tailoring.
• If there is a huge jump in price from one type of cloth to the next, you may want to make lower level bandages for a bit longer to save yourself some money. Just keep in mind that you will likely use a lot more cloth for a green recipe than you would for a yellow or orange one.

Apprentice: 1-75

Materials Summary

Instructions

• Begin by learning Apprentice First Aid from a trainer in any major city.
• Farm or purchase 140 Linen Cloth from the Auction House or other players.
• Start by creating Linen Bandages until you reach 40 skill level. You may need to craft up to 50 bandages for this.
• Next, learn Heavy Linen Bandage. You will be crafting these until level 75
• Journeyman First Aid will be available to train at level 50. Be sure to train it by level 75 so that you can continue to gain skill points.

Journeyman: 75-150

Materials Summary

• 30 Linen Cloth
• 150 Wool Cloth

Instructions

• Continue making Heavy Linen Bandage until you reach skill level 80.
  • This recipe will be green at this point, so this may take quite a few crafts.
• Learn Wool Bandage at skill level 80 and craft it until you reach 115.
• Then learn Heavy Wool Bandage and craft it until you reach 150.
• Expert First Aid will be available to train at level 125. Be sure to train it by level 150 so that you can continue to gain skill points.

Expert: 150-225

Instructions

• Learn Silk Bandage and craft it until you reach skill level 180.
• Then learn Heavy Silk Bandage and craft it until you reach 210.
• Next learn Mageweave Bandage and craft it until 225.
• Artisan First Aid will be available to train at level 225. Be sure to train it before moving on so that you can continue to gain skill points.

Artisan: 225-300

Materials Summary

• 75 Mageweave Cloth
• 80 Runecloth

Instructions

• Continue making Mageweave Bandage until you reach skill level 240.
• Then learn Heavy Mageweave Bandage and craft it until you reach 260.
• Next learn Runecloth Bandage and craft it until 290.
• Learn Heavy Runecloth Bandage and craft it for the next 10 skill points.
• Master First Aid will be available to train at level 275. Be sure to train it by level 300 so that you can continue to gain skill points.

Master: 300-375

Materials Summary

• 70 Netherweave Cloth
• 25 Frostweave Cloth

Instructions

• Learn Netherweave Bandage and craft it until you reach skill level 330.
• Then learn Heavy Netherweave Bandage and craft it until 350.
• Next learn Frostweave Bandage and craft it until 375.
• All three of these recipes should be orange, so you should be able to craft the exact number for the points you need.
• Grand Master First Aid will be available to train at level 350. Be sure to train it by level 375 so that you can continue to gain skill points.

Grand Master: 375-450

Instructions

• Continue crafting Frostweave Bandage until you reach skill level 400.
  • This recipe will be yellow at 375 and green by 392, so you may have to craft quiet a few of these.
• Then learn Heavy Frostweave Bandage and craft it until 425.
• Next learn Embersilk Bandage and craft it until you reach 450.
• Illustrious Grand Master First Aid will be available to train at level 425. Be sure to train it by level 450 so that you can continue to gain skill points.

Illustrious Grand Master: 450-525

Materials Summary

• 360 Embersilk Cloth

Instructions

• Continue crafting Embersilk Bandage until you reach skill level 475.
  • This recipe will be yellow at 450 and green by 467, so you may have to craft quite a few of these.
• Then learn Heavy Embersilk Bandage and craft it all the way to the 525 cap.
  • This recipe will be yellow at 485 and green by 505, so you will need to craft quite a lot to reach 525. This is definitely the most materials- and time-consuming part of leveling First Aid.
• When you reach 525, don’t forget to return to your trainer to learn Dense Embersilk Bandage!
• You will also learn Field Bandage: Dense Embersilk, which will allow you to combine the Heavy Embersilk Bandages you already crafted into Dense Embersilk Bandages.
