PvE Elemental Shaman Gems, Enchants & Consumables

Besides your gear and talents, there are 3 additional ways you can increase your character’s power: gems, enchants, and consumables, which make your character significantly more powerful when combined correctly. Many guilds and raid groups may not invite you at all if you don’t have the correct gems, enchants, and consumables — but worry not, this guide will help you avoid that problem!

As an Elemental Shaman in the pursuit of supreme Intellect numbers, you’re going to want to fill those sockets with mostly or entirely Intellect gems; the only exception is getting Hit rating. If you need more hit rating, socket at least three red gems so you can utilize Chaotic Skyflare Diamond, and then figure out how much Hit rating you need from gems and socket either Veiled Demonseye or Rigid Ocean Sapphire. Any left over sockets should be Brilliant Inferno Ruby.

• Epic: Brilliant Queen’s Garnet
  • Alternatives: Rigid Deepholm Iolite, Veiled Shadow Spinel, Purified Shadow Spinel, or Sparkling Deepholm Iolite if you really need Hit rating
• Rare: Brilliant Inferno Ruby
  • Alternatives: Rigid Ocean Sapphire, Veiled Demonseye, Purified Demonseye, or Sparkling Ocean Sapphire if you really need Hit rating

Armor

• Head:
  • Arcanum of Hyjal (Guardians of Hyjal – Revered)
• Shoulders:
  • Felfire Inscription if you have Inscription
  • Greater Inscription of Charged Lodestone if not (Therazane – Exalted)
• Cloak:
  • Lightweave Embroidery, if you have Tailoring, is strictly better than Enchant Cloak – Greater Intellect.
  • Enchant Cloak – Greater Intellect for all else.
• Chest:
  • Enchant Chest – Peerless Stats
  • Enchant Chest – Exceptional Spirit is inferior to Enchant Chest – Peerless Stats unless you need the extra Hit rating.
• Bracers:
  • Draconic Embossment – Intellect if you have Leatherworking
  • Enchant Bracer – Mighty Intellect otherwise
  • Plus Socket Bracer if you have Blacksmithing
• Gloves:
  • Synapse Springs if you have Engineering
  • Enchant Gloves – Greater Mastery
  • Plus Socket Gloves if you have Blacksmithing
• Waist:
  • Ebonsteel Belt Buckle
  • Plus Grounded Plasma Shield if you have Engineering
• Legs:
  • Sanctified Spellthread, if you have Tailoring, is a discounted version of Powerful Ghostly Spellthread with the same stats.
  • Powerful Ghostly Spellthread otherwise.
• Boots:
  • Enchant Boots – Lavawalker is preferable because that extra movement speed is worth more than the 10 extra haste from Enchant Boots – Haste.
  • Enchant Boots – Haste if you just need that 10 extra Haste.
• Rings:
  • Enchant Ring – Intellect if you have Enchanting.

Weapons:

• Main-Hand:
  • Enchant Weapon – Power Torrent always.
• Off-Hand:
  • Enchant Off-hand – Superior Intellect
