PvE Holy Paladin Gems, Enchants & Consumables

Besides your gear and talents, there are 3 additional ways you can increase your character’s power: gems, enchants, and consumables, which make your character significantly more powerful when combined correctly. Many guilds and raid groups may not invite you at all if you don’t have the correct gems, enchants, and consumables — but worry not, this guide will help you avoid that problem!

Gems

Note that non-Jewelcrafting epic gems are added to the game in Phase 4.

Meta Socket

• Ember Shadowspirit Diamond

Red Socket

• Jewelcrafting: Brilliant Chimera’s Eye
• Epic: Brilliant Queen’s Garnet
• Rare: Brilliant Inferno Ruby

Yellow Socket

• Use red gems if the socket bonus is less than +10 Intellect, +20 Spirit, or +20 Haste, and you have already activated your meta gem. Otherwise use:
• Epic: Reckless Lava Coral
• Rare: Reckless Ember Topaz

Blue Socket

• Use red gems if the socket bonus is less than +10 Intellect, +20 Spirit, or +20 Haste. Otherwise use:
• Epic: Purified Shadow Spinel
• Rare: Purified Demonseye

Enchants

Armor

• Head:
  • Arcanum of Hyjal (Guardians of Hyjal – Revered)
• Shoulders:
  • Felfire Inscription if you have Inscription
  • Greater Inscription of Charged Lodestone otherwise (Therazane – Exalted)
• Cloak:
  • Lightweave Embroidery if you have Tailoring
  • Enchant Cloak – Greater Intellect otherwise
• Chest:
  • Enchant Chest – Peerless Stats
• Bracers:
  • Draconic Embossment – Intellect if you have Leatherworking
  • Enchant Bracer – Mighty Intellect otherwise
  • Plus Socket Bracer if you have Blacksmithing
• Gloves:
  • Synapse Springs if you have Engineering
  • Enchant Gloves – Haste otherwise
  • Plus Socket Gloves if you have Blacksmithing
• Waist:
  • Ebonsteel Belt Buckle
  • Plus Grounded Plasma Shield if you have Engineering
• Legs:
  • Sanctified Spellthread if you have Tailoring
  • Powerful Ghostly Spellthread otherwise
• Boots:
  • Enchant Boots – Lavawalker if you want to increase your movement speed
    • You should skip this if you have the Pursuit of Justice talent since the bonuses do not stack
  • Enchant Boots – Haste otherwise
• Rings:
  • Enchant Ring – Intellect if you have Enchanting

Weapons:

• Main-Hand:
  • Enchant Weapon – Heartsong if you need more mana regeneration
  • Enchant Weapon – Power Torrent otherwise
• Off-Hand:
  • Enchant Off-hand – Superior Intellect

Consumables

Potions

• Potion of Concentration if you can find 10 seconds of downtime to use it
• Mythical Mana Potion otherwise

Flasks & Elixirs

• Flask of the Draconic Mind
