On an interesting note: a few people have mentioned using Questie on private servers and Nostalrius--fun fact though--that addon was invented in 2015, 9 years after retail vanilla had closed its doors. The quest helper addons that existed before that were extremely lackluster.
Funny how nobody ever thought of something so conviniant back in the day, even though it was possible (pservers and databases were a thing and with little efford you could rip their data)
If they're available, I'll likely be using the basics of a quest helper and gatherer.
I'm less sold on things like swing timers and boss mods - those types of tools being unavailable/less popular in classic were part of what made the encounters skill and knowledge based instead of just pressing buttons when your computer screamed "RUN AWAY LITTLE GIRL, RUN AWAY".
I have nothing against Quest helper Addon or something like that but i am really affraid that Group finder addons will come back and maybe even Gearscore!!!!
maybe even Gearscore!!!!
I really hope gearscore doesn't come to vanilla. Vanilla had many uses for lower level items having great usage it wouldn't make sense for a itemlevel/rarity based score. https://classic.wowhead.com/item=1404/tidal-charm is a level 41 item, uncommon rarity and is used extremely commonly in PvP (though often just switched to for a brief moment via macro), but still. Vanilla isn't high item level based like later expansions. Would be super misleading in some cases, I think.

Yeah i think when it comes back they would use a BIS score that show how far someone is in the stages and how many BIS Percentace they have.
When was cartographer made available? I might use that while leveling, but otherwise I think I'll go bare bones.
I can not live without addons. I suspect we will be getting versions of the modern addons instead of the old ones because they are using a modern API. It will be easier to adapt he newer programs than the old ones. I think, I'm not a programmer though.
I also can't live without them. I'm such an addon freak... I tweak them a lot according to my needs, never use em out of the box. Only n00bs use 'Mik's Scrolling Battle Text' with default settings. I also need my tooltips on my cursor, not on the right hand corner of the screen, duh!

All the little inconveniences are roadbumps which keep you driving at 30 instead of 100, and addons undo a lot of those inconveniences. It's very hard to appreciate the scenery at 100.
- Quest helpers take questing from [try to figure out what the quest is, where to go, what to do, & explore on the way there] to [go directly to marker, mash buttons]. The quest helper gameplay loop has way less variety, and it burns you out faster.
- Gearscore addons make being a gear nazi easier.
- Auctioneer is a nuke in market PvP which is very hard to compete against without having it yourself, and it makes certain really antisocial strategies like blanketing the first 3 search result pages of a good in no-buyout single-stacks viable.
- Atlas and co take all the mystery (and discovery) out of loot tables. Yes, it's all on the internet, but it's not all in your brain, and you have the freedom to approach dungeons without knowing whether they contain a significant upgrade for you. This makes it HELLA exciting when they do!
If Blizzard does not add the low-level quest-tracking feature that was added in Wrath, then I'd want an addon to provide the same functionality.
If Blizzard does not add the "clean up bags" button, then I'd want an addon to provide the same functionality.
If Blizzard does not provide the "unlearned recipes" tab that exists in modern WoW, then I'd want Ackis Recipe List.
Auctionator, TomTom, also yes.
I should spend more time fighting murlocs than fighting the interface.
i'm fine with addon's as long as they don't automate gameplay or add automated grouping features.
AddOns just enhance game, they aren't damaging gameplay. I stay with the word that if you don't want to use them, just don't use them.I like custimzed UI that's why I like and use AddOns all the time.

There were some that did damage the Gameplay, like Healbot or Gearscore.
@IronBrutzler
Healbot isn't bot by any meaning, it's just makes mouseover macros for spells which you can cast on friendly frames. You can do exacly same thing with in-game macros.
Gearscore isn't that bad too, this only helps to evaluate a gear of player you choose to join you in raid/party. If you want to have smooth run you want good player with good gear, and GS helps to check one of these criteria.

That is not true at all. The original Healbot did things you could not to with one makro on one button. It has a reason why Blizz broke it back then.
