The "black boxes" surrounding chat, mini-map, KTM and action bar is an addon called Discord Unit Frames.
DUF, Discord Unit Frames, also contains an addon for the action bar, the unit frames and the mini-map. So you don't need separate addons for those.
DUF comes with a lot of flexibility, allowing you to set up the "black boxes" as you like, how you like your action bars aligned and the shape, size, picture on/off of your unit frame. Also different shapes of mini-map and integrated coordinates.
Next to KTM, a "black box" with Grid shows when I join a raid.
Other than that I'm running:
- KTM
- Satrina Buff Frames
- Prat (chat addon)
- Atlas Loot
- Grid
The only add-on I'm gonna use is Questie. Some may dislike this and consider it 'cheating' - but I've played Classic for so long, completed these quests so many times - I'm quite happy to let Questie do some of the work this time.
New players, however, I wouldn't recommend you use Questie. Immerse yourself in the game as it was intended (at least once).
Fuck 'em. Just because someone doesn't have 8 hours a day to read and do everything, they shouldn't be admonished for using something that cuts down on confusion alone. Sorry I want to have a job AND play WoW guys!

Better Align - recommended for all addon users to adjust your player, target, group, other frames perfectly
very simple, lightweight addon, nice to have when you starting to test around with addons in the upcoming stresstest.
Addons I'm waiting or hoping to be added to Classic:
WIM and Luna will do :)
