Hi there,

Similar like the warlock thread.

Lots of classes have their ways and niches to make gold. Mages aoe the shit out complete dungeons. Rogues pick pocket mobs like gypsy's in the Ramblas plaza in Barcelona. Locks, hunters badger instances like DM.

But what do ferals be it full tank, full cat, or Hotw/NS spec have going for them?

Money wise...

I just run dungeons with my buddies. I pick up whatever vendor trash I find, maybe I get an orb or two, maybe I skin some dead things, and I come away with 40-50g at the end of the night. I usually have 500-600g in my bags. I also won a greed roll on an ace of beasts a week ago and sold it for 1300g.

I hate farming and don't do it. I just hang out with friends and the gold takes care of itself.

But getting that sweet sweet warden staff will cost a pretty penny.

How does one afford that as a feral? Thats the question !

Herbing or Mining, or get an alt.

They're not that expensive, the Warden Staff isn't a pair of edgemasters. I borrowed 150g at the time when I was level 51 or whenever it was that I bought my staff, and I paid it back in a few days. I bought mine for 271g, and that was 7 months ago. On my server now they can be had for half that much. We also don't really have to spend much gold crafting gear, so it's not like we're saving for a lionheart or titanic leggings. Nor do we need to run BRD 400 times to get a savage gladiator chain. All of our blue stuff pretty much comes from dungeons, and our purple stuff comes from raiding. Some of it comes from battleground rep, but even then we're not really buying gear like other classes do. I'm sitting on over 2,000g in the bank right now and I don't farm jack shit. Other than raid consumes, I also don't have much to spend it on as a bear tank. I just tank dungeons for buddies, don't reserve anything, roll greed on everything that drops, vendor it all at the end of the night and post whatever mats and stuff I collected on the auction hall. Can easily pull in 50g per night doing that, sometimes a lot more.

Are you level 60 yet?

Besides, I just thought of this as I sit here waiting for my instance lockout to expire so I can run another 5 gnomer dungeons in a row - as a Feral Druid, you're going to be farming enough crowd pummelers to not want to farm anything else. If you're a raid tank, then you're probably an off-tank and you won't need many pummelers. I get by with about 3-4 per week, typically one on raggy, one on baron geddon, and one for Ony. But if you're cat DPS then you are going to use an obscene amount of pummelers every week to keep up on DPS. Farming your weekly 16-20 or whatever crowd pummelers is going to drain the will to farm right out of you. I try to stock up on as many pummelers as I can all at once and do it once every few weeks to maintain a stockpile in the bank.

Unless you really need a big number of gold right away for something urgent, just don't even worry about it and let is accumulate on the side as you play.

Nope. Just finished renovating the second floor including the room that has become my gameroom/office.

Quite pleased with the result I might say. Allthough it took quite some time.

Going to order a new desktop this week and than I hope I can start with my furry friend (or a rogue or lock. That doubt still gnaws at me)

Yeah, don't worry about making gold yet then. Your time is much better spent making your way to 60. Your gold making ability is severely limited until that point. The gold just starts piling up at 60 even from just running dungeons and vendoring stuff.

Sorry man, I think you're looking for one of those 'one weird trick that makes fat loot that other classes hate' situations which we don't really have as Druids. If you're really set on grinding out a long solo farm then this isn't the right class for it. Level up a mage and use it to AOE farm. Or you could do gathering professions. People ignore skinning because it's not as flashy as mining for crystals or herbing for lotus, but tbh I can't be assed to run around looking for mining nodes or herbs but I do find myself constantly surrounded by things to skin. I can skin up a solid 20-25g just from black dragonscales and rugged leather from a single UBRS run with zero additional effort and I find it a solid way to tack on a chunk of gold to the nightly dungeon runs with my buddies. I had herbalism for 6 months and didn't go out a single time looking for herbs.

I've got over 2,000g in the bank as a full feral raid tank chugging every consume I can get my hands on with zero farming. 2-3 nights in dungeons with friends can net you 100g pretty easily, which is more than enough to cover a week's worth of raid consumes.

And I do mean chugging every consume I can get my hands on - For reference these are my typical buffs heading into raid nights:

I'm not skimping on consumes and I can afford this with zero solo farming. I just grab some friends, run some dungeons, and vendor the trash and sell the BOEs that I win. Though I don't normally use flasks, those are out of my budget so ignore that one... that was for a special occasion speed run push.

Good to hear! I am not looking for that one pony trick to get filthy rich. Just wanna be self sufficient and pay the bills. And if possible not look like a peasant.

I just started farming for my epic mount on my main, and I’ve had very good luck farming golden pearls. You can farm them from any mob that drops clams, and on my server they are selling for 60-70g apiece. I have averaged at least 1 per hour, and this is farming from mid 40s mobs that I 2-3 shot with just white damage. Literally any class could do this, it’s mindless, zero chance of dying, and depending on what mobs you farm, there are plenty of additional opportunities for making more gold per hour, such as collocated fishing spots, leather farming, mining or herbing, etc. It’s really on you what you want to do.

I've made loads of gold doing Coffer runs in BRD. It depends on what you have to pay for the keys though. I usually don't bother if they're more than 25s a piece.

You can also mine in Silithus for a chance at some Arcane Crystals but rate of succes will depend on your server.

Leatherworking is also going to be a moneymaker come Phase 5 where almost every rogue will need 9 Cured Rugged Hide for AQ.

But as others pointed out, the best and not to mention most fun way to make gold is to simply play the game.
