Feral druids- How do you make gold?

I made my druid as the farming alt for my shaman. Before 60 as druid you basically don't have to worry about gold, but the easiest way to make some is to tank low level dungeons as you level up. There are still people who don't jump on the boosting bandwagon and have a hard time to find tanks.

Since you took up herbalism, check the AH to see which low level herbs sell well on your server. My herbs of choice (going up the skill req.) would be Swiftthistle (random pick from Mageroyal and Briarthorns), Stranglekelp (always near water), Wild Steelbloom, Grave Moss, Goldthorn.

--- At lvl 60 ---

1) Farm Dire Maul East. The courtyard always has two spawns of Dreamfoil and Gromsblood and the inside of the dungeon is randomly filled with more Gromsblood and Ghost Mushrooms. All of these herbs are used for everyday consumables and are always in demand. If you also get alchemy, more profit. Any spec druid can easily kill solo mobs if the herb spawns under them, but most importantly he can stealth around mobpacks and if you carry some int gear with you, you can also kill the same bosses that all ranged classes can farm in DM:E jump runs.

2) In case you don't have a group of friends to run dungeons with, you can always spam the LFG or "world" channel offering tanking and healing services. Tanks are in high demand on my server and many groups are okay with passing you loot they don't need, reserving the first righteous orb for you, stuff like that.

3) Adding to Easycap's suggestion, BRD Coffer runs are great when you don't want to group up. It's pretty much stealth all the way, no fighting and no real danger. It makes for a very relaxing way of farming gold (albeit not super profitable).

4) I heard of ranged classes soloing Princess Theredras in Maraudon. I never tried it, but I know some people want Blackstone Ring from there, so it could be profitable.

Oh and on a completely different note. Don't buy the Warden Staff

Yes, on paper it's your BiS tanking weapon. Yes, it's mentioned/featured in every feral tank guide. But it's not actually worth the money. The Unyielding Maul from DM Tribute run offers almost the same stats, losing 10 armor and 2 defense and gaining 1 stamina. But mainly, it feels like those feral tank guides are written with old meta in mind. With minmaxers driving dps and threat to new heights, you are forced to generate more threat to keep up, which means that being hitcapped and using more offensive weapons takes precedence over the more defensive options. Timeworn Mace + Tome of Knowledge combo and those Manual Crowd Pummelers bring much more to the table and prepare you for the one-handed weapons from Nightmare Dragons and later from AQ.

It's crazy expensive and barely even shows up on the AH from what I've seen too. Even if you wanted to get it the odds aren't great unless you were watching the AH every day.

My furry friend is now 33. I see warden staff generally go for 300g in AH.

Which is doable I guess.

With my feral druid I do most of my farming in Maraudon, soloing princess. I just vendor the blues and gather herbs. The herbs are actually quite valuable. I think that I net something like 60g an hour.

An advantage to this farm is that it's not that dull. I do it specced pure feral in random tier pieces that I've gotten. Apparently spell damage blues work too, but the 3 piece set bonus from T2 is nice for mana regen.

I'll also echo Psojed from above: don't buy Warden Staff. This is not merely because it's expensive, but because it's actually not even bis either. Unyielding Maul is a better all purpose tanking weapon. While the stats on WS are slightly better, the main difference is that UM is a mace. This means that you can use an Iron Counterweight on it. Since 3% haste is much better than 15 agi UM comes out ahead.

I bought warden staff early in my druid career, but I've recently mostly stopped using it .
