I dont see how they would care. If you undercut significantly they happily buyout your auctions. If you undercut by an insignificant amount they just undercut you in return.
I've noticed that people are undercutting on the AH to a point that markets have no stability at all. I figured it would stabilize as time continues, but it's still insane. I haven't really ventured out from my own server - is anyone else experiencing this in their server economies?
I'm not talking about undercutting by a couple silver or copper, I'm talking about selling for half the price of others. It's essentially throwing potential money away for the person undercutting, and makes the market volatile. Do people not really see that they are losing money this way?
Yes it is abundant on my server and irritating to say the least. I still don't understand the people that sit and put items in one piece at a time instead of by stacks. I would just buy the cheap stuff, and sell it at a higher price but I am sure I would just be undercut on the price and lose gold so I am not going near that. Personally I think some folks are unable to understand how to get the market going. For some reason there is a no one has any gold mentality out there. I guess they think all the people running around on mounts and level 60's don't have any money because their own low level toon doesn't have any. I'm here to tell you the gold is abundant and folks need to start bumping prices up, be patient, and it will sell.

Personally I list stuff in stacks of 1s often. The reason is, if you don't have an AH addon, those are the listings you will see first. And most normies don't have an AH addon.
Also, you open yourself up to a broader market if you sell in 1s. Someone who only needs 7 of an item won't buy a stack of 20.

I will absolutely buy a stack of 20 instead of your stack of 1. Then I'll sell the extra myself. I will never touch your stacks of 1 out of principle, should be a bannable offense imo.
Great, but normies don't give a shit about principles, they buy what they see first and what is cheapest
Mmmmm, I'd say I'm pretty close to a "normie" and I find it fucking annoying to click through your stupid 1 stack auctions. If it works for you then keep doing it I suppose, but I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one who skips your auctions because I find them asinine.
Normies don't browse forums

I don't use an auctioneer addon - I am a normie/casual. I will only ever single stack items if it is an incredibly low price and makes the effort worthwhile, or if i am literally a couple of units off what I need to craft.
Single stack auctions on things like Thick Leather are frustrating and just plain shit. Stop it.

I had to buy a bunch of mats for something a while ago. There were no stacks of 20. I think I needed like 30 or 40 of whatever it was that I was buying. There were only single item auctions up. I got progressively more angry as I had to sit, click, buy, select, click, buy, wait, click, buy, wait, select, click, buy ad nauseum. I could just feel my blood pressure increase as the time started to drag on. There's a special place in hell for people who sell things in stacks of one

If the devs don't want to make it a bannable offense, they could at least confirm the existence of an afterlife because I know it's damnable.
I don't see the big deal anyways. If you're halfway serious about the AH you have an AH addon. Personally I have auctionator and with that I don't have to browse through 5 pages of singles before I can buy stacks.
Please refer to the above quoted post by Pippina about why your auction house strategy is annoying as fuck to even those of us with AH addons.
I sure hope the grocery store doesn't start selling rice by the grain.
If there's no stacks of 20 up the market on your server has dictated that singles are an easier sell, and you should blame the people buying them, not the people putting them up
