I saw in another thread people talking about some fantasy books. It would be cool to get some recommendations from other WoW fans about what fantasy books they like. I've already read Kingkiller series and of course LOTR. I would recommend the Kingkiller series except it is a George RR Martin situation and I don't know if the series will ever be finished.
Even though they're sometimes listed as children's books, I think all of Ursula Le Guin's Earthsea novels are fantastic (start with A Wizard of Earthsea).
I think you saw my post in another thread, but Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive is a GoT style epic, and it looks like he's actually going to finish it. The Way of Kings is the first book in the series.
If you like any Stephen King, check out the Dark Tower series as well, first book is The Gunslinger. It's sort of a fantasy/sci-fi/action adventure more than strictly fantasy, but the series is a wild ride.
I haven't read a lot of them, but on my list for awhile has been the Discworld books, first one to read is The Colour of Magic. These are Watchmen-esque not in the violence and grittiness, but in that it asks "Magic, but what if it was real life".
Ooh, what great books these are. The last one I read was Tokyo Zodiac. Honestly, that's the most intense book I've ever read. I'm also looking for books on how to write essays correctly and competently because I have exams coming up and I need to prepare for them. Although we studied and often wrote essays, I cheated and turned to write my essay review because I did not want to write myself. I liked that they offered flexible deadlines so that students could get help when they needed it, even with time constraints.
