Would be interested to know others' current setups or anything they've bought recently and how you're liking it.
Latest purchase for me is a Corsair K95 Platinum (non-XT version) with Cherry Blue switches. Feels really great, and having a bunch of extra keys for keybinds on the left side right near WASD is way more valuable to me than I realised. I tend to run out of keys for WoW since I use so many keybinds and macros, so having a full size keyboard with all the extra buttons is great for me. Maybe it's just me being an MMO gamer but I feel like bigger keyboards with more features are just way more practical.
Full setup below for anyone interested. Waiting til 3000 series for the GPU upgrade, hopefully it's good.
Fractal Design Meshify S2 with 3x Noctua NF-A14 3000RPM PWM case fans
Gigabyte Aorus Z370
Intel i7-8700k
Noctua NH-U12A
Nvidia GTX1080 Founders Edition
Corsair HX1000i
Samsung 860 EVO 2TB, Seagate Ironwolf Pro 8TB + 2.5TB spare drives
2x Asus VG258QR
Razer Mamba Elite
Corsair K95 Platinum
That's a nice setup!
I tend to be more budget oriented on my side, but switched not long ago from from a desktop to a laptop that I just have setup with a second monitor, kb, and mouse.

Nice, it's crazy to see how far laptops have come. The price gap between desktop and laptop is closer than ever, and it's pretty cosy being able to play wherever you want.
I had some spare lab parts laying around, so I'm using a single-socket 64-core EPYC 7742 with 256GB RAM and an RTX2080 graphics card. Quite possibly the stupidest computer to run a computer game on, let alone a 15 year old one.

Where tf do you work, NASA? 256 GB of ram
I run a mini-ITX build which I built for silent running - its very budget with a modest 1050ti and a Pentium G4560 but it handles everything I throw at it. Only thing I didn’t skimp on is the fans, CPU cooler and PSU.
It runs Hackintosh OS X High Sierra for development/graphics stuff and Windows 10 for games.
For peripherals I have a basic wireless mouse and a Microsoft brand keyboard - I’ve always loved microsoft peripherals tbh and something that they always seemed to make spot on.

I work for a computer company. I got enough parts laying on benches in the lab to load up 4tb across two CPU sockets if I really wanted to  lots of engineering samples laying around.

So your ram was free?
I mean, what in gods green earth do you need 256GB of Ram for?!?
Who needs a CPU and hard drive if you can store and run everything in memory.
Wait I know, your hosting Fairbanks on your computer, thats whats going on here or is it the internet...

yeah, eventually parts become obsolete for testing and they kind of just sit around.
Even better are the fun things you can do with damaged parts. There was a shipment of server CPUs a while ago that had been damaged during shipping - Pads scraped to shit, decoupling caps torn off the back. Completely destroyed. They went from $7,000 processors to beer coasters overnight:
I walk around the office with this dope ass chain sometimes too
Better use than pitching them into the E-Waste bin
So I've just bought a new 16" MacBook Pro for a bargain. I got 2599$ model for 2074$ brand new, unopened. It should arrive on Wednesday.
Should be pretty decent for now. I needed it mostly for iOS development. I was extremely dissatisfied with my previous Lenovo Yoga - broken screen, broken battery, some other werid issues. This laptop spent more time being repaired than in my house.
I'm also thinking about ridiculous gaming RIG in small form factor, comparable to console (this case: https://zaber.com.pl/sentry/ ). Something like:
but I have to wait for another batch of these cases. I'm also curious about Ryzen 4XXX series (coming this fall) and new GPUs from nVidia and AMD (also coming this fall). So this is probably something for 2021.
You guys and your insane computers to play wow classic lol
Samsung 256 SSD
i5 - something something
Nvidia 1060 turbo
16 GB Ram
recently upgraded two years ago but dont plan on upgrading for another 5 - 10 year
Though i do incremental upgrades where i upgrade some pieces here and there.
The big one of course would be Ram/MB/Cpu which will be here to stay for a while
More recent purchase is a Msi curved gaming monitor
