So I've been thinking of ditching windows...for good. I want something high-end and very very compact, so I can move it around or even mount it.
So some of you know, I currently have an Asrock A300 Mini-ITX Linux Machine. Specs are: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G / AMD RX VEGA 11 (Integrated GPU) / 32GB DDR4 RAM and a 500GB SSD. Now, it's fine for playing classic however, I really want a more powerful mini machine. I found the Intel Nuc 8th Gen, i7-8809G version, super small, almost flat Mini PC.
The specs for this are as follows: i7-8809G / AMD RX VEGA M GH (equivalent to a GTX 1050 Ti) / 32GB DDR4 / 2TB SSD.
To put the GPU into perspective..the Intel Nucs "GPU" which is also, integrated (Somewhat). the Vega M GH is 111% FASTER than my Current Vega 11 on my current Linux machine..
This will run Linux with no issues as well as Classic and most likely Retail/Shadowlands.

Add 8000GB of Ram into it, ahhhhh 4800 GB SSD drive, ummm, GTX 9550 Ti Platinum, Gold, Members ONLY, Exclusive, HAWK Edition, X-567, Xtreme, MEGA Over Clocked, Gamer-X Paradise, Bronze, Eco-Friendly, Vegan, Tesla Special, Mint Collectors Edition, RGB Enabled, RTC OC SUPER, Titanium Platinum Overdrive, w/Custom Cherry on Top :lol:
Joking aside, I really like the shell/case of that computer, feels like your own personal console!
I have the 1060 GTX 3GB version and Classic and retail runs just fine.
If you have the money for it and its going to be 100% faster and seems like it should last a while for you, go for it!

I am more of a mid-size tower kinda guy.
Dont want it too big but also dont want it to small to allow the parts to breathe, so to speak

The best part about installing humorously large amounts of memory is that the windows swap file and hibernation files become massive. By default, windows reserves an amount of storage equal to the amount of installed memory for a swap file. It also does the same thing with the hibernation file - when the system goes into hibernation, all contents of memory must be flushed to disk, so it reserves a chunk of storage equal to the amount of memory you've installed. If you have 8gb of ram, you're not going to notice 16GB of swap and hibernation files reserved by the OS. But if you install 1024GB of ram, and you have a small SSD, you quickly notice the missing 2TB of storage being reserved by your operating system, lol
I'm down to 64GB of ram these days in my web browsing bench motherboard rig. I was running 1TB of ram for funsies for about a week, but those 128GB LRDIMMs were needed for testing so I pulled them for some old 8GB 2133 dimms that we've since decommissioned from the test lab due to age and specs.
Inb4 literally no reason to have 1TB of RAM and a 64 core server processor for web browsing. I know. It's for my own amusement with spare lab parts :lol:
