I honestly don't know what to do with all of the release delays, though.
I gobble up anything new that the official forums, sudden Reddit interviews translations, and observant YouTube peeps can give me.
Anyone else hyped up enough to keep checking in on the progress and features?
I love everything CDPR is doing with this game: from the ability to customize my character's nether parts and nipples (here, if you are interested) to the gorgeous city districts (click). From what I saw of the gameplay already these places will be breathtaking rendered in 3D.
I might be a bit biased?
Dang it though, CD Projekt Red has to be one of those game developers to be crazy about. Witcher fans must know what I mean.
Help me ease all the waiting-g... let's talk! Cyberware? Life Paths? Story? Characters? Romanceable characters? ... I dunno, ramming your Nomad truck into a billboard in Badlands?
As a stockholder I must say I'm hyped. On more serious note, I'm sure the game will be a blast. I'm just not sure when I'll find time to play it. If it's as long as The Witcher 3, it'll probably take me year to complete it.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be awesome.
And I don't think as a videogame only: it's a Multi Platform game that needs to please a large audience because having such production value is incredible expensive. More on that below.
So while I am quite sure there will be alot of features I will love and find intresting as a big fan of the cyberpunk genre, I am sceptical it will be a smooth gaming experience, as they are so ambitious with the features.
On the other hand the production value: I am 100% confident that it will be a amazing piece of art as a branch/ip. They did alot for the background / fluff and are working with artists like Run the Jewels, Grimes and obviously Keanu Reeves. That alone makes it really interesting. Also with a anime series already in production they can work that branch for years.
On a side note, I should look into CDPR shares too, thanks for reminding me of that Merode
Oh wow, you guys.
Here I was whining about the wait and you two have actual arguments towards or investments with the project.

I am really appreciating the replayability of the story in that regard. (It's all promises, of course, but the gameplay feedback from people gives me some hope.)
It seems that every time you start anew you can alter your entire game trajectory just by picking a different background and making a few different choices along the way.
Not even talking endings here but just the seemingly serious ways in which each quest can be affected through dialogue choices and quest solutions. (And then, how these decisions in one quest affect entire sections of another!) The size of the game might not be as massive as some people expect, but the depth-...!
By the way, very clever of you to invest, Merode. I bet you already saw your holdings double since 2019!

Even though I tried to channel my hype fan into this post, I completely agree with you on your assessment of the game as an all-rounded project vs. its effect on the gaming industry.
We can already see some features being slowly rolled back (nothing too major, though), mixed comparisons of the game to GTA V (especially in the context of the community being upset with Rockstar currently), people grumbling about vehicle driving and melee combat in the current gameplay demos, arguments about the game's FPP never fully died out...
Of course, it comes with just about any game. Cyberpunk 2077 just happens to be one of those passion projects that was around for 7+ years and worked hard to maintain the hype with ambitious promises along the way.
Very solid points on its effects on the community in general. It's already visible with people organizing a kind of a culture around this game and laughing at the newest feature of taser-cyber-nipples in the upcoming lore book. I know that some of the TTRPG players who were fans of Cyberpunk tabletop for many years now appreciate the attention to the lore and then the new edition of the game coming out as Cyberpunk RED.
It's pretty cool.
Sadly no, I've only just invested. I was too scared of stocks earlier and had to educate myself a bit before getting in. My father is big into it and he convinced me - his other investment just had gone +90% in a week. He made my three month's salary in a week.
CDPR is his big regret. I'm playing a lot and I was telling him to invest before The Witcher 3 came out because they were going to explode. He hesitated. The price was about 25PLN back than. Today they sell for 370PLN and they peaked recently at 405PLN.
