On another post our brother in arms Hogbobson wrote something about "VC". At first I wasn't sure what he meant.
There are no horde quests in VC, right?
And then it came to me that there is this weird discussion about whether the abbreviation of Deadmines is "DM" or "VC". It seems that it was different for every realm.
On my realm it always has been "DM" and therefore Diremaul was called "DM west, DMW, etc..". And to be honest if it wouldn't be for private server I would never have heard of "VC".
What's your point of view on this?
It is often confusing as people use both of them. I personally use non-abbreviated Deadmines.
Wait what does VC even stand for - VanCleef?
Yup
I'm actually leaning more towards DM than VC, mostly because when you need people for Deadmines, you are most likely in Westfall and people won't think you mean Dire Maul. I have, however, been called a noob for inviting a level 59 to DM from the capital several times, so if I go to town to LFM, I'll generally switch to VC.
The lvl 59 guy was a retard then.
I just comes down to location and circumstance.
>you reach Deadmines before Dire Maul
>you don't need to leave westfall to find a Deadmines group
etc

This level 59 player made my day.
"DM" is the proper term. If someone were looking for a Dire Maul run they'd include either East, West, North, or special other identifiers like Trib or Thorium run. Having someone look for a Dire Maul group with no other context would be like looking for BRD Arena Farm and going "LFM BRD".
LFG BRD... UBRS... DM, ZG, MC... Noob? 1337?
