What are your tips for newbies leveling beyond the mid-level lull between 25-3x? It's that awkward point where it gets really hard to level and do quests solo as mobs are getting stronger and hitting harder in comparison to your level/stats even with dungeon gear.

Make sure to always log out in an Inn. And play with at least something playing on the side, ex: Netflix. Time will fly by.

To get past the grind in the mid levels, I started leveling my alt a little for a bit of fresh air.
Makes it easier to jump back on my main to get him through the 20-30s.

Eventually you need to power through it, but when it gets boring/hard to focus, doing something else helps before going back.
Its like that a job, work 50 hours a week for 10 months straight, you eventually you need to take a vacation before going insane
But when you come back from your vacation you are usually rejuvenated and will enjoy working again and get you more focused.

Its kinda like grinding with wow on your character you need to do something else, like play an alt, play another game, take a couple days break.
Usually you will get the itch to jump back in and continue that journey which becomes more enjoyable!

You could:
-Fumble your way around the world with no specific route or timeline. You will spend tons of time being inefficient. (preferred by many players for their first playthrough. Often represented as the way the game was meant to be played, but for many others is overrated and silly.)
-Follow a defined leveling guide so your leveling doesn't get inconsistent or slow down (the fastest and most accessible way to level).
-Level with a friend so the long droughts of content are still engaging. (Slow. Hard to coordinate. Almost never works out. If you are struggling to manage to level 1 character to 60, you dont want to take on the burden of another person and then add scheduling conflicts and restricted play time to the mix.)
-Embrace the grind, turn on netflix and become a slave to your computer chair while collecting XP from boars. (My preferred method. Works better for those with a lot of free time or who are unemployed/ have extended vacation)
-Create a dungeon cleaving team to spam dungeons from 16-60. (similar to embracing the grind, but requires 4 others to do the same. You'll need to find 4 colleagues who have a mirrored schedule or have a very open schedule yourself so you can find 4 other neckbeards)
-Pay for some dungeon carries. Be sure to add lower level group members to your team to bring down the avg group level and increase xp gain. (Requires a friend with a high level character. A high level character on your second account. Or a large sum of disposable gold.)
-Only play on rest. (The most passive way to legitimately level. You only play this toon when the XP bar is blue).
-Pay RL for a leveling service. Make sure they are trusted. Make sure you create a fresh account that is not attached to your retail account in case of any bans. (very few are getting banned for this - the ones who are are getting banned because they are cheaping out and paying for unqualified Chinese services - I don't recommend cheating, but a large portion of the community is doing this. Just because you COULD do something, doesnt mean that you should).
-Run a bot (same disclaimer as above).

Some encouragement: Millions of people have done this before you and regardless of how inefficient your leveling is in 2020, its probably well above average for those who played with no access to information in retail vanilla.

Some discouragement: You aren't even halfway until around 44-46, and things will get far worse on the second half of leveling where quests become more sparse, competition increases and PvP becomes unavoidable (if you are on a PvP realm). This is the point of the game where travel time becomes far and wide for quests and players who don't stack their quests properly or understand which quests unlock large questlines will be penalized significantly.

Bonus: as a mage AoE grinding is legit. You could open Joker's 1-60 playthrough on a second monitor and mirror his leveling route. It will give you an idea of where to level and when and what mobs are ideal for AoE grinding and how to approach valuable pulls.

I don't consider the game to have hit a slump or lull until about level 40. Keep in mind that I've only ever gotten Forsaken past level 13 on any Classic or BC realm, so I don't know how the other races' questing experiences are, but questing can basically be done one zone at a time throughout Tirisfal Glades (1-10), Siilverpine Forest (10-20), and Hillsbrad Foothills (20-30). Only after hitting 30 are you expected to split your time between two zones (Alterac and Arathi) where all of the quest objectives are located as far away from the questgivers as possible. However, most players will just spam Scarlet Monastery instead. 40 is where it gets to be unbearable: you're too high level to get much benefit from Monastery anymore, Maraudon is a nightmare, the Badlands and Swamp of Sorrows are godawful, all the quest objectives in Tanaris and Feralas are like 3 miles away from the quest hubs, you don't have enough gold for a mount... this is when killing boars starts to look like the least painful way of getting anywhere. In fact, I personally did get at least one level just from grinding turtles in the Hinterlands.

The "lull" subsides after you finally scrape enough gold together for a mount, travel time becomes 60% less painful, and running right past any hostile mobs that are in your way becomes a perfectly valid option for getting through them.
