Violet Hold.
Dire Maul, It's not that I don't like it, the Hydrospawn boss was quite interesting, and the jail gambling thing a true challenge for a healer when 2-manning farming with a warlock, more like I don't know how many hours I've spent there killing Lashers... alone...
Gnomeregan for sure.
Btw, reading you makes me realize I have never done a full Maraudon run.
Gnomeregan for Horde in classic was a nightmare, not just to get there but because nobody you ever ran this dungeon on horde and nobody had ANY knowledge of it. Mauradon takes the number 2 spot on my list after Gnomeregan.
Gnomeregan is just terrible in almost every way, so that's definitely my least favorite. Stockades gets #2 for being so lame.
My favorites are probably Mara, ZF, and WC. I'm surprised so many people dislike Maraudon. But I never expected to do the whole thing in one run. Seems like a bad idea given that it spans like 10 levels.
Ehh, don't really hate anything.
Maybe I somewhat dislike gnomeregan and found sunken temple to be a bit too samey.
I adore long mazey dungeons but there's a difference between a long maze by design that still flows well and a long maze just for the sake of it being long and frustrating.
Uldaman for sure.
The top 3:
In at number three is LBRS, it’s just boring and kinda pointless in a way when UBRS is upstairs and awesome.....
Coming up at number two we have Uldamen, it’s a maze, no one wants to do it because it’s miles away from everything ever and it’s really annoying.
and finally, the number one most hated dungeon of vanilla........
Drum roll please.........
It’s Mauradon!!!!!
Fuck that place in the ass with a cactus.
Uldaman and Gnomer. Too many chances for wipes based off poor design. I guess it’s supposed to teach you to be a pro-puller, but the levels progress too high by the end. I leveled as a hybrid and played with non-standard groups, and these dungeons were exceedingly difficult.
I hate Sunken Temple so god damn much
Gnomeregan. Someone always ended up pulling a small army out of those trenches.
Gonna have to join the others here and say Gnomeregan + stockades. Gnomer especially with it's high tech environment and sort of whimsical workshop music, god I hated that. Totally broke immersion for me. Even as Alliance I loathed everything to do with wow gnomes. At least goblin stuff is just money and like really big dynamite that fails half the time, I can sort of live with that in my fantasy world.
Stockades is definitely a very distant 2nd, simply because I play horde so the place held no meaning to me and was fairly boring. At least say DM had a nice story and voice acting (Avast ye swabs, repel the invaders!)
That said I quite liked almost all vanilla dungeons, thinking quite fondly of even stuff like Ulduman and ST (man the first time seeing Archaedas awakened or summoning the Avatar of Hakkar..)
Sunken Temple.
I love the themes and aesthetic of all vanilla dungeons (perhaps with the exception of RFC which feels a bit rushed) so my dislike comes purely from having groups break up before the end of dungeons. ST has stuck in my mind as a hotspot for failure. I hope classic gives me sweeter memories of the place!
Maraudon for sure. It was way to big, it just took ages and there was always drama about the loot.
Back in the day? I couldn't stand Sunken Temple, BRD, or LBRS/UBRS because they were so complex, and I didn't like Strath b/c of the mob density.
Now, I kinda like all of them except Strath because of those damn gargoyles.
I absolutely love SM in its original form. Graveyard having lower level requirements as Cathedral for example makes it relevant for quite a level range. Being near to UC was also a big plus as a Horde player.
I cannot count all the Hunters, Shamans, Warriors I leveled in Vanilla with the sole purpose of equiping them with the whole SM mail items, Ravager even if some items were not "optimal" or simply exchanged a few levels later (I am looking at you Carpace of Tuten'kash and Icemetal Barbute).
Edit: Damn wrong thread
