I decided to stick to DD as well, and I have been having a great time. So far all my interactions have been nothing but pleasant. A few annoying trolls in the starting zones, most likely the touristy of tourists who are just there to stir shit up. Other than that, I've had a great time. Population feels pretty solid too. There's enough action to cause dynamic re-spawns, but not so much you're losing your mind looking for a target.
Moving on to the second areas, Goldshire/Kharanos/Dolanaar, there's still tons of people there to play and have fun.
These queues aren't going anywhere for awhile. In fact, brace yourselves for the weekend.
I'd rather play, and start making friends and memories, then spend hours in a queue for the next two weeks. Vanilla servers had what, 3k per server? DD could only have 15k and it's still going to feel massive compare to the ol' days. Maybe, we'll get down to a good 10k players with no layering by phase 2. Now that would be awesome.
Tried out skeram, was shot down again by queues. I'm now on DD for good. Calling this home.
I'm casp, human paladin. :)
Deep down I wanted to roll in Deviate Delight but my guild & friends have opted for Sulfuras. Initially they were heading to Herod, and since the queues were insane I went ahead and created a character in Deviate Delight just to mess around until things stabilized - I got her to level 5 and logged off in Goldshire. Later that evening they announced that the guild would move from Herod to Sulfuras.
I guess you can say that my very first Classic experience was in Deviate Delight, and for this reason it will always have a special place in my heart. :-)
I'm just gonna keep Grob as my main server but I'll use DD as my horde server. Dilemma solved.
Thunderfury is my Horde Server where Slufuras is my Alliance server. both medium to high pop.
Deviate Delight is really starting to feel like a great place. I'm glad we switched there now, and I'm excited to see what the first weekend brings!
