Actually pretty soon I'll be doing a patch to introduce a TBC forum and an Off-topic forum. Stay tuned

Not a good idea at all. Leave classic the way it is, and add new content to it. Make an alternate timeline story where different decisions were made that lead to all new scenarios. Call it Classic+. Keep all the elements of Classic WoW and add new stuff. Worked with Old School Runescape.

You’re contradicting yourself here. In my opinion the success of Classic so far has been it’s attempt at authenticity, not new content.

Whilst Runescape is a good example of successful expansion on ‘Classic’ content, we’re talking about two different games so the comparison isn’t worthwhile making.

There is no contradiction. The issue with retail is that it strayed away from the content that made Classic WoW great. Classic WoW, in my opinion, is the best WoW at its core. People love progression. Once people finish everything in Classic, they're going to want to do more. Old School Runescape is literally the only thing you could compare to Classic WoW in this regard. OSRS kept the core gameplay and added new content, leaving the classic gameplay but entirely new progression. Classic would still retain its authenticity because all of the original content would be there. People do not play Classic because of its authenticity to specific content like MC or BWL, they play it because of the gameplay. People like the sense of accomplishment--how much time and effort you have to put into leveling and getting gear. They like a challenging RPG. Like I said, the comparison between Classic WoW and Oldschool Runescape is the only logical comparison to make at this point. We're running out of ideas, so we're going to re-release TBC. When OSRS released they had no plans on adding all new content--like you said, they wanted the original "authentic" experience. But once people realized they needed progression, new content succeeded it. And I think, if you're an avid Vanilla WoW player, you would love to see a Classic+ experience. You would like to see a completely new narrative and keep the Vanilla WoW core. Keep everything the same and add more regions/raids/quests. That's what we all want.
