After watching a lot of Monkeynews and other warriors... I think I might have changed my original classic plans, and might roll a Warrior. I have NEVER played one, but from what I have seen it looks hella fun. What do you guys think? Btw, I have never rolled a tank. So, as a result I'm on the fence.
I would love some helpful feedback/suggestions/guides on the class in general.
Great idea.
First off you’ll have the joy of tanking for the first time which regardless of class is very fun.
You’ll level slowly but by endgame you’ll be arguably the strongest DPS and Tank out there.
I myself am tempted to pick warrior because of my love for tanking. But the versatility of a feral tank switching and being able to grind mobs, quests, stealth run shit & gather fast do the trick for me.
Fact I aint gonna be top notch deepee'es is of lesser importance to me.
And druids specially in vanilla do have that unique snowflake vibe going on!
Just remember to not spec prot until you're 60, you can basically tank with a levelling spec until then as long as you keep a sword and board in your inventory.
Otherwise grats on the choice man, welcome to the don't want to wait for groups club.
It isn't the easy road, but its SO worth it if you can make it to the point where you are an established warrior with gear.
I had a level 51 warrior (alliance) and a level 52 warrior (horde) during retail vanilla. Since then I have leveled warriors on private to level 52, 40 and 35... As time goes on I get further and further from 60, haha. I don't have thick enough skin to play a warrior (hunter main here) but admire those that do. You are arguably the most dependent class in the game but are also the most needed class in the game. Classic will be around for awhile so if you have the itch, you should give it a try!
Tauren Warrior was my first character. Tanking is fun, but be aware that Warrior is one of the harder classes to level. You have no abilities similar to aspect of the pack, blink, or sprint to help you get around faster until your level 40 mount. Also, if you don't keep your 2H weapon up to date you'll end up feeling gimp.
As far as PvE is concerned, there are only so many tanks in raids, so you will more likely than not end up being a DPS Warrior. With the proper gear, spec and rotation, you will be a force to be reckoned with.
For PvP, once you hit 60 and get yourself a solid 2H weapon with slow speed and your PvP trinket, you are going to have a fucking blast, provided that you have some healing support. Arms spec is the cookie cutter in this case. If you roll Horde and get yourself a Shaman buddy to keep Windfury totem down you will experience true power in a way that no other class can.
It's a very rewarding class, but unfortunately you will not see it shine while leveling.

I miss the "rogues in plate" days.
Good thing about warrior/tanking is you most time always get the gear you need, at least in dungeons. Also easy to find spots in partys, just be prepared for a slow leveling process til 30-40s +.
I've been considering a warrior alt, actually. I think your thread convinced me. It sounds like a lot of fun, and I have a friend who wants to play heals.
If it's your first time leveling a warrior, I wish you luck.
At level 30 it is highly recommended that you immediately begin your https://classic.wowhead.com/item=6975/whirlwind-axe chain quest. You'll need help with is.
Here's an extensive guide that breaks down all warrior class quests.
Leveling specs for a warrior has been a highly debated topic for quite some time. Some people like to spec into fury until 40, then switch for https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=12294/mortal-strike ; while others like to go pure Arms. I believe this depends slightly on your play style, and if you're solo leveling. If you're duo leveling, I would say Arms is the way to go, level 30 https://classic.wowhead.com/spell=12292/sweeping-strikes will help clear times immensely.

The only basic advice I would add here from my own experience would be to keep a full spirit set of gear and have an addon or macros to quick swap between pulls for regen.
Here's an.. uhh.. sneak peak of a Class Picking Guide on the works. Expect it somewhere this weekend teebling wink wink.
Actually I was originally not planning to play Warrior during Classic, but I recently rolled an undead warrior on Retail and my god they look amazing. I also love tanking so I may actually be a madman and go Warrior this time around. Either that or Druid, because I really want to tank some damn dungeons!
pfff why play the 4767 Warrior on your Realm when you be the one of the elite 10 Ret Palas ;)
