We get joy from it because our community has been swept under the rug and spat on since wrath and we're now able to show off without any repercussions.

I can't imagine there are that many people who are super compelled to include themselves in that "we" or have much skin in the game at all in this whole fiasco. I've been part of the vanilla private server community since 2011, and by now you know my reaction.
seriously they downed rag already? thats mental lol i thought you needed to have like some kind of reputation done to be able to get in the raid and do it? and a whole load of fire resist gear too? that blows my mind how they coordinated so many people to get this done so fast and im sitting over here with my 2 sub-level-20 characters thinking im progressing pretty okay LMAO
Yeah its pretty wild. I wish I still had that kind of time again.
For those of us who raided seriously on retail vanilla and have played private, we seen this as a possibility (probability). This is why we have been saying as much for months. That is NOT to say that this was easy or even predictable, this was nothing short of amazing and with the shaky launch, I am shocked that they were still able to pull this off. However, completing MC within a week is achievable (clearly) and inside two weeks is VERY achievable as was known by anyone in the hardcore raiding scene. Private is and always will be the hardest variation of Classic. I am super happy that I got to experience private and for those of us who did, we understand how massive the nerf to difficulty is while entering Classic, especially in raids as private was intentionally tuned to be more challenging. For all the hate pservers get, I am happy that these guys were validated. Though the selfish part of me is very disappointed and wishes that Classic was tuned to be relevant for modern standards so that we could relive that authentic difficulty that we faced in retail vanilla. My hats off to APES, I had figured these guys or Method would be getting the world first. While APES has far more applicable experience, I thought that the support network for Method may edge them out given how insanely powerful early consumable stacking can be for a raid team.
All in all, very huge accomplishment for APES and a huge validation for private servers and the content that was completed on private and the players that completed it. I have PvP'd against APES many times and the guys are savages.
I remember rerolling horde for northdale with the side thought of "hey at least all the tryhards are going to be on horde with me this time and it won't be like how it has been for years on alliance". Then everyone went ally and formed apes and all those guys and made Horde miserable. So much for my break.
I'm just sitting over here enjoying the fact that the picture appears to show a full raid team of gnomes and dwarves. I don't see a single human warrior in there. No humans at all actually. I was kind of expecting to see everybody rolling the straight min-max races all the way down the line. I mean dwarf priests, check. Gnome casters, check. But gnomes with shields
They are fully min/maxed as every gnome melee is going to get R14. So in the PvP sense they are still min/maxing haha.
Dunno whats so great about anything in PvE classic or even private scenes "difficulty" did emerald dream bk in the day, and its nothing more than having enough time to pull this kind of shit off. And these boys prolly just unemployed cos they do it on the reg. This has the same amount of difficulty and excitement as a somebody who has ran countless marathons, succeeds to run yet another one. Method hate I can kinda understand from this dude if he identifys as a private player but thats what always happens when "your" group is being "attacked", would I care if I would be a privplayer, no.
What pippina said is the only thing that amuses tbh
It is just sad to hear:
"This game is easy, killing Ragnaros with 12 sta neck" Warlock from the APES, after the world first kill.
It was like, Muhammed Ali comes back to rings, and Knocked out at first punch!
Sad.
But on the other hand, it is a great progress for a well organised Guild.
GG.
This is all so petty, lol.
Congratulations APES! Now you guys can get some sleep :p
Dunno if they had strict priviledges on voice comms but they didn't sound excited at all. I guess I'd be dead too after doing something like that.
If you want to hear screaming, you should get in voice comms when a shaman is tanking, its &*%$#@! exhilarating and heart pounding, literally proving millions of people wrong.
No point getting excited really when you are the only guild at 60. There's no race at that point. The content is also complete faceroll compared to private servers so I imagine it was a huge letdown to those in the raid.
They are fully min/maxed as every gnome melee is going to get R14. So in the PvP sense they are still min/maxing haha.
Yep. They are next level min maxed hahaha. Takes a good eye to recognize that though.
I love how the threads on this forum that were talking about the potential of a week 1 Rag kill had far more traffic than the post about it actually happening. Those other threads were riddled with people gasping and laughing at the notion that this was possible, yet here we are. For those of us who had a pretty good feeling that week 1-2 was going to be the kill, it feels really good and bad at the same time... Because most of us that knew this was the case were also very interested in seeing the game tuned to be a bit more challenging. So while we knew this would happen, it also stings to know that Classic will be such a watered down version of our private experience.
I'll be honest... The "I told you so's" are really awful for everyone. I hate that I knew layering was going to be terrible. I hate that I knew MC was trivial... I hate that most of us who played private had been preaching about these issues for the past year and it was dismissed ("Private server values are off hehe Classic will be tough hehehe" - right, they are overtuned.). And what I hate the most, is that we were right. Nobody here won. There is no prize for a watered down version of Classic. And this is why the guild did not celebrate after the kill. This entire thing is a bit disappointing.
