I'm feeling down or more or less worried about progress. Hearing about these first 60s and first rag/ony kills with the game barely being out. I'm almost a level 30 warrior and I feel like I'm going to be lost to the ages by the time I get to 60 and get to raiding.

My point is I really like where I'm at in the game and the pace I'm going with my friends. I just don't want the game or the world to progress to fast through these phases before I get to enjoy them. Just because others who can dedicate whole weeks to the game can...

Anyone else feel this way?

That's called the F R E S H syndrome. On private servers there were very good jokes about that, like as soon as the first person on the server was level 2 you were behind and you started demanding a new server

Jokes aside, don't worry at all. There will always be people ahead of you and there will always be people that falls behind. Everyone has his own pacing and every pacing it's good. If your main concern is raiding, don't really worry. For most of the guilds wow raiding progression is very different from other expansions, in the sense that ALL raid are in some way relevant through the whole game. Even when Naxx will be out you will have plenty groups still farming MC/Ony for different reasons.

And moreoever, being level 30 is not at all bad at this point! I am level 17 and I see a lot of people around my level running through the Barrens. And I'm on the least populated servers :-)

I'm level 17 and Level 11. I'm not too worried. I'm playing two toons to experience different perspectives of Azeroth. It's fun and I enjoy taking my time.

I'm not worried. I'm never going to play with those guys anyway. Wouldn't it be a bummer if you'd down those bosses last week only to be burned out and quit. We've waited years for this game and I'd rather take my time and take years to enjoy it.

I sort of understand what you're getting that, but at the same time I'm just not paying attention to anyone else.
On launch day I was able to take one day off and I was the highest level in my guild. But now I can only play a couple of hours every day at best, and I'm somewhere in the middle now.

It's fine for me because our guild is casual / semi-casual, which means I have tons of players around my level. And being a (lvl 25) warrior means that by the time I'm 30, my other guildies will be high enough to help me with https://classic.wowhead.com/quest=1792/whirlwind-weapon

Just gotta find a guild that shares your playstyle, it makes the whole experience feel whole again.

If I can suggest one thing where you "should" look out for others is that if you're on a PvP server, it would be really great to be level 60 by the time phase 2 starts. This phase will bring PvP system but no battlegrounds; this means if you are level 51 level 60 players will get honor points by killing you. And you can bet your sweet lil orc butt that they will kill you. Dungeon leveling is still a thing tho, so If you can't make it to 60 in 3-6 months (the estimate on when phase 2 is being released) there's still that.

For the rest, just don't mind what everyone else is doing. I know it's easier said than done, but there isn't really anything else you can do about it.

I had similar feeling at first since I’m only a level 27 warrior but then I realized that I will have people to help me get whirlwind ace at 30 instead of much later plus by the time I get to 60 the other warriors in my guild will have their gear so pretty much anything that drops will go to me :)

This is something that crossed my mind. They hit the wall of content and now have nothing to do.

I appreciate all the input. I was nearly a fresh 60 ret paladin when naxx released the first time around. And yeah there were plenty of raiding guilds still doing mc and bwl. Otherwise I wouldnt experienced it back then.

I don't want blizz to push phases really fast, I guess is my main concern.

Don't worry about that. The number of players who finished the current content (60, mc and ony clear) within the first week is probably less than 1% (less than 0.1% probably). It's only the hard core of the hardcores.

Blizz will very carefuly plan out their phases and check lvl stats across the whole player base. Don't forget they make more profit by serving the masses ;)

There are people who are always going to be ahead gearwise, that's just a fact of life. Little kids who don't have school, unemployed folks, retirees who can play 24/7 etc. There will be guilds who do nothing but play WoW and they'll be ahead of everyone else too...method...apes etc. What's the point in thinking about that? Unless you're willing to play the game 18 hours a day & dedicate your life to it then you have no choice but to be behind, so no point thinking about it.

The majority of people are going to be playing like 2 hours a day, including me.

This post, if the game had been released 5 years ago. I would be around lvl 50/60 range, and in a hurry like every exp release bk then. Scared if im not at the top, burning through the content and being one of the best geared peepa on server.

Atm Im in spain on a holiday, and have been since last friday and will only hit the servers the coming saturday, I admit I rushed levels at launch as we had a lan and played duo, left to spain at lvl 30. Feeling good, enjoyed the game and now I get a "fresh" launch of sorts. Im behind the pack, but its okay Im just gonna enjoy this as it lasts.

The original game had been out for well over a year before I reached level 60, and I was still able to find progression guilds just a boss or two into Molten Core not long after.

I think we'll all be fine. I see plenty of people still hanging out around level 15 or 20. Others are getting into their 30s and rolling alts. There are a vocal minority of players caught up in the "Race to World First" or whatever, but most people have jobs and families and are not pro-streamers. You're going to find plenty of people to play with along the way.

Don't worry about anything. People will always be ahead of you, let them. You have plenty of time to level and you'll have plenty of time for whatever you hope to accomplish. If you're going to spend your time leveling just fretting about how much everyone else is accomplishing, you're not going to enjoy what you are accomplishing.

I agree there's no sense in worrying about this but I'd like to add that worrying is completely rational. You are a warrior after all, the class known for being an absolute bottom feeder all the way up to 60. More people ahead of you means more hopelessly inescapable ganks. It means more competition farming crests for your windfury axe. It means saturation of every commodity you struggle to farm. The hard grind is getting harder.

Many warriors will quit before 60, but that also means you will be more valuable if you make it.
Oily Blackmouth and Stranglekelp tripled in value on Stalagg yesterday. You could probably farm your mount by fishing.
