Summer is almost here & we are all getting excited about Classic, but when will Blizzard announce?
I think they will probably do it at E3 on June 11th. That would be the most likely scenario. That said: I don’t want them to push the game at all if they are not ready.
I would rather wait until the end of summer to get the best version possible. I want everything to be right & not rushed.

They won't compete with the Live version as they want people playing that. so once 8.2 is out I expect a month to get everyone into the new areas and raids then we get Classic news.

I'm really hoping for a July release date. If we are looking at August I will have no choice but to just wait longer.

I'm thinking about a July release as well. I do believe they got the spirit to give us a good game.

I checked on WoWhead and they're estimating that 8.2 will come out May 28, so that gives them a two week gap before E3 if they want to announce it then, which... I think seems like as good a time as any if they were going to hit that rumored mid-July date.

I agree with this, and while people are speculating a May 8.2 release, I don't believe the 8.2 content has hit the PTR yet, and if that is the case It would leave less than 50 days of testing for a supposedly large content patch assuming it comes out on the PTR this week. Also keep in mind Final Fantasy 14 is releasing an expansion in July and I would be surprised if Blizz doesn't have something lined up to compete.

I hope not, since there's speculation that 8.2 won't be out until late June/early July. That's WAY too late for a beta test to start if they're sticking to the "Summer" window.

I think as soon as they announce the server list, it will give us a pretty good indication as to how far out it will be. I'm praying for June, hoping for July, worried it will be August. As a school teacher, August will really put a damper on my leveling progression.
