If I play less than 5 hours a day, would I be considered a casual player? Between work and university, it is the most I could consider investing in the game.

Yes, and there is nothing wrong with that. Just enjoy the game how you wish. Just means you will have more content to do.

Mind you there will people only putting in 3 or 4 hours. Classic is a journey, enjoy it

I suspect that the majority of people will only be putting in around that many hours daily as well. There are not many people age 21+ that can devote 12+ hours a day!

You could play for 5 hours a day doing nothing but chatting in /1 and that'd still be considered casual. Or you can play for 2 hours a day and still push to achieve as much as you can. It's more about how you play rather than how much.

I would say that less than 5 hours a day could be considered as Dedicated Casual. It's perfectly fine, our members will have ppl playing far less than that. I will be playin about 2hrs a day in weekdays and maybe 6 to 8 hrs combined on weekends.

Okay..so just because you don't play 12+ hours a day doesn't make you a casual..I think it's more on how much you accomplish in those 5 hours. I plan on playing anywhere from 4 - 8 hours a day but actually enjoying the content, exploring the world and learning new things. See, for me I was never able to experience classic (Vanilla) because I was 11..didn't have the money for it and my computer was trash. 256MB of RAM with no GPU and a old dual core intel cpu. So, my advise, just enjoy the content.

It isn't about how many hours you play, but your strategies and how you approach those five hours.

Most people are going to be called casual not because of the amount of time they play, but their level of skill.

I would like to add that five hours per day winds up being 35 hours per week - and I wouldn't call a length of time equal to a second full time job (NA) strictly casual.

5 hours a day would be a dream. I'm lucky if I get 2hrs per day

This will probably be me. I'm just hoping I can hit 60 in under 4 months, lol.

5 hours a day is not casual, I would said it's "Semi-Hardcore".
The way I rank players depending on playtime.
2-4hs a day: Casual.
5-10hs a day: Semi-Hardcore. (Normal Player).
10+hs a day: Hardcore.

Just giving my 2 cents.

a few week after launch I will be pursuing a haulage job. If I can charge my laptop via the 12/24v I'll be able to play 2 hours in the evening and all of the Sundays.
I won't be able to tank Blackwing Lair or Naxxramas unless I'm at home

Once hardcore, now a casual
being an adult sucks

If I limit myself to being drunk for only 5 hours a day, am I still an alcoholic? Or just a "casual" drinker?
