I'm wondering what everyone's been up to - especially the veterans who used to post on these forums almost daily before the game launched. I still browse these forums daily but there's nothing much going on so I thought we could break the ice a bit.
Are you still playing the game - if not, what happened? Are you still in the original guild you signed up in before Classic WoW came live? What notable achievements have you accomplished so far? What are you doing right now and what are you looking forward to doing in the next 1-2 months? Are you excited for TBC or do you think your journey will end with Classic?
Interesting that this is the first thread I see after my first visit to this site in months. I quit after a month of BWL. I completely lost interest in pvp and was only playing to raid. Stalagg had been falling apart and my disdain towards Blizzard's handling of server transfers was increasing. My guild was planning to transfer off, and I was honestly feeling like the game was becoming more of a burden than fun. Icing on the cake is I changed jobs and became a lot more busy irl. So I decided to quit, with the possibility of starting back in Naxx just to complete all of the endgame content.
Recently I've played PoE, D2, and bought a Switch to play through some console games. If I get an itch to play WoW again, I'll probably just get into this hardcore classic cup since speedrunning is probably my favorite thing to do.
I didn't get to play most of TBC originally due to some RL issues, so in theory I'd love to play, but I just don't really have that kind of time to dedicate to an MMO anymore, and super casual play doesn't suit me.
I'm still playing, I hit 57 on my main last week and I have a week off work so I'm hoping to finally hit 60 if the kids will let me.
I've been trying to let me main get rested to make it easier and do bgs on my alts, but it seems like low level battlegrounds have slowed down a lot lately.
And I'm extremely excited to a TBC option, although I really hope the way it works is that I can copy my existing characters over to it.
I hit 60 but pretty quickly stopped playing back in January for a lot of reasons; my guild fell apart, I didn’t have the time to dedicate to the game that I really wanted to, meaning I couldn’t do the endgame content I wanted to, and was just generally too busy to put in the effort to meet my goals. I started playing again a few weeks ago but rolled on a new server because I wanted to play horde. I still don’t have the time to play really, but leveling can be done just fine in short bursts. My biggest worry is that the population on Deviate Delight seems dangerously low atm, which is going to make getting groups for dungeons difficult, so to help counter that I rolled a Druid so I can do whatever needs to be done. I’m having fun with the game again though. I will definitely be playing tbc since it adds my favorite part of the game, arena, but I’m hoping real life allows me the time to actually do some raiding in classic before that happens.
I've taken a break as I'm finishing my master's. I've got a level 50 Shaman and 42 Paladin, and I've just not had the time in a block to hit 60 since the game launched. I leveled the Paladin from 1 to 40 just over the Christmas break.
I was really wanting to play elemental and ZG was when it was going to actually be a non-totally trash spec with all the plus hit and mp5 gear. I mean it still won't be that good but I won't feel compelled to buy 80g in consumables per raid. (which, tbh, nobody should be doing anyway b/c the game is pretty easy)
I finish up w/ school in week and a half. And then I'm 100% fucking off for about 2 weeks before I start work. But I'm not sure I can get super into the game when I know both my characters will be so much better in BC. Plus I've got other games to play. I'll have to see.
If I got way back in it, all I'd want TBH is a casual 20 man guild that raids ZG and AQ20. And maybe starts some Ony and MC pugs. Just so we have a small group that everyone knows ready for 10/25 man raiding in BC.
Nice to hear from you all
Currently working on a patch for BC to bring it up to speed with what I anticipate will be a TBC classic announcement soon.
My druid is at 48 days /played, my warrior and mage are probably at about 2 and 3 days each. So I'm about 53 days /played in total. BWL has been on farm for a while now, and our best BWL clear time has been 62 minutes. We got MC down to 55 minutes a couple months ago. The raid team I'm on is elbows deep into prep for AQ40 right now, and we've been stacking consumes for both AQ and Naxx:
The current grind now is preparing nature resist gear for the princess huhuran fight. We're looking to equip a minimum of 15 of our guys with at least 200 nature resist, but trying to get 20-25 guys to that resist level in case we lose guys during the fight.
Can't wait for AQ to drop.
I play here and there honestly. Mainly playing planet coaster and surfing youtube or picking back up on my DJing hobby. I got my hunter to 58 and stopped to play a mage. IDK why I can never hit max level on blizz servers. I just fall off.

I'm kinda of the mind to just wait til BC. Might play every once in awhile to get some exp but mostly gold in preparation. Better designed classes and, I assume, reduced exp to level per the 2.4.3 patch.

What about AQ War Effort, you guys prepping for that - or anyone on your server for that matter?
Farming BWL & ZG, doing some PvP, and waiting on AQ. I'm next in line for either Lok'amir or Rejuv Gem but neither have dropped. Having terrible luck with loot in there.
I burned out pretty fast  . I'm barely about to reach level 40 with my highest character because I'm an altoholic and don't often play. Since I'm going to law school this Fall I doubt I'll have any real time in the future though. Still, I have to say I've had some incredibly fun and memorable social experiences in classic already.
Last week I finally hit 60, got my Dreadsteed, did an MC run and got my t1 helm and t1 pants!
So got back into leveling my lowbie druid over the last couple of weeks and I’m once again having a blast with the game. Druid is definitely one of the most gratifying classes to solo with, and is the only class I never leveled to max in retail. Happy to report though that I’m once again in love with the game.
Not been so good for me to be honest. Going into classic launch I didn't have any friends or anyone playing besides a few family members who literally stopped after like a week. I had a "main" character and slowly hit into the mid 20s or so and also tried a few others classes to the mid 20s but took a break from WoW around November (as I play classic and current). I started playing WoW again March/April or so. To be totally honest I regret not just fully giving it my attention and trying to push to 60 during that initial launch rush. I feel like I missed the party in that aspect when Classic was totally fresh and people didn't have established 60s.
With my WoW sub active again I'm planning to re-roll on Classic to a fresh server and give it another shot and hopefully this time make some friends or join a guild so I can actually stick it out long term. Without any social connections it can get boring for me. I'm on EU going to roll Alliance so if anyone has social guild spots open feel free to let me know here, happy to join any server..preferably a PvP server. Either way, I'm hoping this is the last time I need to re-roll. It would be nice to just stick with it and actually hit the cap and experience end game that I missed in 2005/6.
