I really don't want to transfer my classic characters to TBC, but I am planning to play them as my TBC characters. I'm not planning to start new ones in TBC. This puts me in a weird situation where I might have to start new copies of my current characters in classic at some point  cuz if the formal plan is to transfer new characters instead of copying them to TBC realms, then I'm absolutely going to start clones of them in classic as whatever the TBC launch date comes so I'd be able to move them over instead and leave their originals back on classic. I've already started a level 1 druid named Beardozerr to reserve the name in case I can't straight copy Beardozer over.
Lol I really hope they don’t make us do that. I don’t see why they wouldn’t just let us copy them, is there some downside I’m not understanding?
I think it has to do with the ability to copy gold. If you copy your character over to TBC on the 1st of June with 1.000G in the bags, then on the 2nd of June you transfer all your gold over to your alt, and you copy him over to TBC on the 3rd of June, you effectively doubled your money in TBC. So that's why I think Blizz wants to be the one doing the copying. A good system would just snapshot the whole server on a given moment and then give players the ability to choose which single characters they would like to transfer to a dedicated TBC server.
Too be honest: got out way more than I expected.
Playing since launch and got 4 Level 60 toons now, while casually boosting a fifth.
My main is a couple of items short of BIS and my Shaman and Lock both also are pretty decked out too. I make gold by raiding 40's in two raids and tradeskill cooldowns and already prepping for war effort and AQ40. Even stockpiling some lotus.
I got my https://classic.wowhead.com/item=19334/the-untamed-blade a couple of weeks ago and are a proud owner of a https://classic.wowhead.com/item=19363/crulshorukh-edge-of-chaos since recently.
By the way teebling is there any chance to extent the profile page, so I can add my alt army?
And special thanks to Stfuppercut for the tip with a mage on a second account: it saves soo much time and money.
FTHforever hey good to see you!
That’s a lot of dev work - we’re launching patch 1.13 soon which I hope will make up for the lack of an army of alts on ur profile
@FTHforever hey good to see you!
Yeah even in 2020 there is a demand for a good forum
Quit classic months ago, burnt out on the meta bs and playing all the time since launch-day. Recently started playing a nelf warrior with the mrs (druid) because of the lockdown stuff in the uk. Caught the bug again but Alliance is for the birds so I'm starting a shammy

I'm thinking about trying out a Shaman myself. I played Alliance in Vanilla and still mostly do now. Might be fun to try the other side!

Do it, man. Shaman's a blast.
Hey guys. Long time no see! So I've leveled my character to about level 40 very casually and then my daughter was born. I had a break from a game but I think about coming back since life is going back to normal. It's still going to be casually, I can probably find an hour or two most days (23:00-01:00).
I just hope my realm still exists and is not ghost town or heavily faction imbalanced (Ten Storms EU). Also, I'm thinking about rerolling character to start anew which is probably terrible idea..
Merode good to hear from you man and congrats on the little one. Yes rerollinf when you’re already 40 is a terrible idea - but will you enjoy it anyway? Probably
teebling thanks for warm welcome! Such a break always leaves me with certain disconnect from character. In general I don't like going back to games I left midway - I generally restart them. However MMOs are a different story, I'll see yet. Yeah, I can't wait for my girl to grow up and be daddy's healer or tank.
So.. what is the state of Classic in 2020? Are people still playing it? Are queues still a thing? Has Blizzard said anything about the future?
Ah yes, I too used to scroll through this site every day, getting more and more excited about classic at and before launch.
I myself just came back to the game, and leveling yet again. Before I took my long break I leveled very casually, stopping by each flower, enjoying the scenery etc and still do today so this explains why I'm still not max and probably wont be for a while. Mainly IRL stuff stopped me from playing, and then when I first returned I came back to a disbanded guild and unsubscribed friends so I lost motivation...
But now with nothing better to do I started fresh with a new character and I am finally enjoying the game again! So hopefully I will join you all in the max level cool kids club
Better late than never!

This was a real motivation killer for me too for a while. In my case it was the guilds that I joined falling apart repeatedly, along with none of my friends from back in the day really picking up classic. I quit for a couple months almost immediately after hitting 60 on my hunter, and it actually took a few weeks of me leveling a druid alt, embracing solo play and taking my time, to make me want to hop back on my main and playing for real again.
That and the real world plague made me want to go back to fighting against the Azerothian one.
Hi all - I am currently on a bit of a hiatus while I have other commitments for raid nights. I am pretty well BiS feral tank gear at this point and just waiting for AQ to drop. Haven't got a second level 60 yet, as I am mostly raid logging these days. I still enjoy playing, and wish I had more time to play.
Feral druid tanking is quite good, and I have been able to also output competent cat DPS on fights with minimal tanks required. I think I managed 1400dps on Vael a few weeks back. All in all it has been good fun and I am looking forward to experiencing AQ40 for the first time (only did AQ20 and first boss attempts in AQ40 in vanilla).
Hope everyone is doing well!
This is rather a sad story, however..I didn't get past level 21..my guild disbanded and I don't have any friends that play Classic. Trying to make an actual friend in-game is easier than retail..but they don't want to level at the pace I was..very slowly because I had never played Classic/Vanilla before. So I haven't played seriously since November of last year..haven't had a subscription since December of last year.
I'd be much more interested in TBC than Vanilla for me.
oh well, I guess I was in over my head with Classic.

Honestly dude, my suggestion is play the class that gives you the most immersion, play on a PC that can handle max graphics, and just play it like a single player rpg. This is what gets me back into the game every time.
