Man, RedRedridgeGnoll really really wants Classic to be more and more like retail.
I still blows my mind that he really wants these retail things in Classic instead of just being a typical forum troll.
And before you think of something along the lines of "It's just a hypothetical question!". The fact that you're asking about it in the first place means you're actively thinking about it.
Let me remind some of you, Vanilla WoW did have paid servers transfers. You can't blame a company for trying to monetize their game further, you can only blame them if they ruin the game.
Stop sucking on the tit of Blizzard. Go earn your pets and your mounts. Feel the satisfaction of a job well done where you accomplished something other than opening up your wallet.
Any hint of the cash shop as it is in retail seeping it's way into classic would almost immediately blow up in Blizzard's face.
I severely doubt they would do this though, they've poured in so much effort to make it an authentic vanilla WoW experience, just to then turn around and take a dump on it.
No cash shop...
Let's just say no to that idea. Play retail if you want a shop it's already there. Funny how people can't figure out why we really want to go back and play classic WOW. It's to get away from all the crap that's been added over the years that ruins the feel of the game.
I agree that race/appearance and to some extent server changes could be useful in the future. I'm looking forward trying to get a server with 50/50 pop for balanced world PvP and if it becomes 30/70 in a matter of 3 months its gonna get sad for both sides.
But it makes me kinda scared for servers on the verge of dying or imbalanced, since server transfers will obviously accelerate their death.
Nothing would be acceptable for me personally.
Unfortunately with the way the company seems to be going, tokens or some other form of monetisation seems less unlikely by the day, which would be a shame because it could end up more damaging in revenue lost from people unsubscribing as well as being extremely damaging to the integrity of the game & the economy.
I’d love to have a barber shop in Classic
That's a tricky one.
When you create your character, he/she is going to have that same face and hair style permanently. There's probably 5-6 hair styles per character and 5-6 hair colours, If you get to level 30 and think " I hate this hairstyle." you would have to make another character again.
I think a barber shop would be nice but it would t ake away classic.
No In-game shop is not acceptable, I am sick of Blizzard cramming all these sales and meaningless items that I do not want to buy on my game launcher AND the game itself...
I would personally be fine with all customization/server options in the shop.
Things such as:
only things that would have little to no impact on the game itself.
It wouldn't be the end of the world if this was added but a big part of Classic was your reputation on the server.
If you're scamming people or generally being a dick then people would find out pretty quickly and you'd have a hard time finding groups, so name changes do have a slight impact on the game.
No shop.
Things such as:
Realm change
Race change
Appearance change
+1.
I'm all in for Realm Change, it's sad to see a server die.
Imho, no shop. Aside transfers.
