Greetings!
I'm Brevanik (Brev for short). Been obsessed with Classic WoW and amidst the excitement of today's announcement, I found this forum. Looking forward to geeking out with you all!
(I still don't know what class I want to play. I change my mind every week. :P)

Welcome to the savannah.
I'm in the same boat, and I'm even unsure which faction to go with yet. It's a tough decision for me.
I did it! I made an account (lol) and decided to do it when they announced Classic release yesterday!
So super excited about the August release!
Tried playing private servers but didn't want to invest time knowing at some point you could lose all your progress! (happened once to me)
I played vanilla when it was current and was in a guild on Burning Blade (US) Alliance where we cleared all content except Naxx, we downed like half the bosses before TBC was released. I played a Dwarf Priest because priests always interested me and I wanted to heal/help my friends/group. I went alliance because I was new and my friends wanted to play alliance so I tagged along. Went Dwarf because I wasnt a fan of Night Elves and didnt want to play Human because I am a human in real life, why would i play one in a game lol (Like I said was new and had no logically reason for my selections).
The first time I heard the snow between my feet as I was running in the Dwarf starting zone was amazing! Then hearing all the spell casting sounds and dwarfs when communicating with the NPCs drawn me into how amazing the game was! The visuals was something I have never seen before in a game, it was definitely the best game I ever played! I was so dumb I leveled Holy until my friends said you should respec to shadow when i was at 40. Once I did leveling was so much easier lol. My favorite item in wow of all time was my Benediction, I had a tear in my eye when I got it! Never traded that weapon in for anything even for a better stated staff or main/off hand combo! I was attached to that thing!
Sorry for a lengthy introduction but I am excited to go back to an actual MMO-RPG game and not the Action Arcade version out there now!
I am on the fence now about either playing a priest again or play a warlock (that I fell in love with in later expansions)!
So I will jump on a private server and level both for a little bit and find out which one I want to main!
So glad to be here and hope everyone is ready and excited about Classic!!
Welcome Nyxt, Brevanik & Brhule. Have a great time here!
Hey guys, I'm Applejacksxx. Been playing since early 2005, and got back into loving Vanilla itself. I've been seemingly lost, but with Blizzard releasing classic WoW, I feel like I'm going to be able to return to a place I used to, and still do call Home.Hope to be able to interact and prosper with y'all :)
Cereal here, saw teebs post about beta on the subreddit.
I must say, I haven't been on a forum like this in many years, it is absolutely beautiful, full of character and everyone seems to be an individual, not just a name.
A welcome change to the swamp that r/classicwow has become over the past few months.
Yo I'm Tax, New Zealand player who found this place through the vanilla speedrun thread.
I was a Shaman in Vanilla but keen for a different experience this time around so going to be playing Rogue for classic.
Site is gorgeous also, great work!
Hello everyone!
I'm from Poland and I started playing World of Warcraft at the start of the ICC in Wrath of the Lich King. Since then I was listening older players aboud old days in WoW and how awesome was back then. Later on I checked in private realms with my brother the vanilla wow servers, and my god. It was a blast.
Since then me and him, and my friends we are all waiting for World of Warcraft Classic release planning on what class to play etc.
Happy to join to hype train with all of ya!
Sorry for my english - still working on it :(
Greetings all!
My rambly world of warcraft origin story:
I started playing midway through the burning crusade at the age of 15 and only hit max level after around 3 months of playing, getting lost, being a noob...
I joined a casual Flemish/Dutch speaking guild while leveling, and before I hit max level I rose through the ranks and eventually was asked to take over guild leadership, by virtue of being online all the time and going out of my way to help people out and organise noobtastic guild events.
After hitting 70 I kept leading the guild, growing it slow and steady, and eventually I learned of this mystical thing called raiding! For several months I tried to persuade and groom my fellow guildies, helping those of lower levels to catch up, improving our skills and eventually getting comfortable doing heroics.
Alas we were too noob and I just wasn’t able to get enough steady players interested in raiding. So with great regret I eventually decided to abandon that guild to join an actual raiding guild thanks to a friend i met while leveling that vouched for me. This was met by great outrage from my former guildies, but as much as I loved my time with them, this bird had to leave the nest! And while I was still shockingly bad at that point, this new guild took me under it’s wing ( they reaaally needed a holy priest, lucky me! ) and we eventually rose through the server ranks as the number 2 horde raiding guild after finally downing KT ! I was so proud of that moment. We then went on to clear BT, but unfortunately the guild broke up during sunwell, with most of the officers and my friends transfering realms, I being so young and credit cards not being a thing in my country/social class back then, was unable to follow.
After this followed a series of subscribing and unsubscribing in all of the following expansions, trying hardcore raiding in most, burning out before long, waiting for the next expansion to come along. It just was never the same after BC for me, and I believe it to because every iteration of wow since then, the player was made less dependent on other players, raiders or people in your dungeon became ever more interchangeable. In BC people depended on me, and i depended on them.
I have come to believe that this might also be considered a key aspect of vanilla wow, and man let me tell you, I am so glad to be given a chance to find out for myself after all these years!
Hi all, I'm Klmt and I'm from the West Coast (USA). I'm looking forward to rolling on a PST RP server and playing a night elf hunter!
I was young when Vanilla came out (I think 8 or 9), and I only played with my parents on a human rogue until mid-BC, when they quit. After that I played around on a few characters, never getting past level 20, until WotLK was released and I picked up a nelf hunter to hit level 58 (so I could roll a DK, lol).
I'm very excited to experience my favorite race/class combo in Classic, as well as finally leveling a traditional Horde alt! (I leveled a blood elf to the end of the Ghostlands with my parents before we went back to our humans.) I'm thinking either a priest or shaman--troll/orc, respectively.
Welcome to the "all things classic" forums!
Done :)
Hey y'all.
New here too =) Never played vanilla (only private servers)
Can't to play this! Im gonna roll a troll mage and looking for a nice guild and friends since im gonna play alone =)
If you want a human mage, I would be down to join up with you.
Heyo,
I've been checking in every once in a while the last few months, but today I finally created an account. I started playing when I was 11 one week before TBC came out, so whenever the elitists ask I can rightfully say I played in vanilla :p
I'm a msc mechanical engineering student, and in my spare time I build bi-liquid rockets (shameless plug, but check out DanSTAR). See you in game!
