Hey everyone! Always wanted to play WoW back when it was released, super excited to play Classic!
Also, teebling these forums look terrific! Amazing how much it's been customized from the standard phpBB installation. Asides from the UI modifications what core changes (backend) did you make to phpBB?
PS: I'm a web developer as well

Lok-Tar Ogar! Started when it came out gimme sum of this classic dope shit
Hello everyone. I plan Alliance on Gehennas. I've always been mostly a private server guy but Classic is my first chance in 6 years to have fun playing legit World of Warcraft again.
I've been playing since I was 7, started in Vanilla just messing around the zones and picked up the game seriously around Wrath. I played through it and Cataclysm and come Pandaria I didn't like the direction the game was headed so I stopped paying to play WoW. I enjoyed Legion, however, and if the alternating good-bad-good-bad pattern of expansions is true then I might enjoy whatever's coming after BfA. For the time being, I'm on the road to 60 on Classic.
I usually semi-speedrun this game, but this time my tempo was kinda lazy and sloppy this time and I procrastinated a lot, so I'm only 25 a week after release.
Hello!
I'm Nick and I've been playing Wow since classic. Although classic is a vague memory to me, I had my peak at Wotlk and quit during cata. I came back at the end of legion and really only played BfA when I was drunk, reliving memories of once a wonderful place.
I work as a Software/Game engineer and have a great passion for the warcraft lore. I enjoy the music of MoP the most.
Currently I'm in a battle with 2 things:
- If I am able to play that day, I can only get 1-2h (which is basicly waiting in queue)
- My current working office blocks anything wow related (wowhead, forums, ...) except for this forum (I've read it all... 3 times). And I used to enjoy reading wowhead stuff to get my hyped when going home.
My first ever char was a NE Hunter. I choose to go Orc Shaman for classic.
Welcome onboard man.
The queues suck right now, but they are getting better. In the meantime you can do what I do in order to bypass the queues - look into setting up TeamViewer on your computer. It is free and grants remote access to your computer. You install TeamViewer on your cell phone as well, and you are able to remote control your PC from your phone. I use this to log into Classic a few hours in advance before I head home from work. This lets me get home ~15-20 minutes before the queue is up, basically bypassing the queue.
Classic is great even in small chunks of a couple hours per day. Just go out and do some quests and make little chunks of progress at a time and enjoy yourself.

Thanks for the tip, I already set up a remote control, and use it to bypass it, thanks for the tip thought ;).
Classic is indeed something where you can enjoy it even for small chunks of time, that's why I love it!
Hey everybody!
I'm having a blast playing Classic and I'm stoked to find a rad forum to join. Seriously, the level of attention to detail on the forum is incredible. Kudos to the developers/admins.
Hi guys,
My name is Adam and I’ve been playing WoW since I was 14/15 during Vanilla. Played every WoW expac other than BFA.
Probably like most of you, I’ve become more and more disenfranchised with the game after every passing expansion (few highlights though e.g. WOD). Dream became a reality with Classic.
Pretty much always been Alliance and have mained Hunter/Rogue/Paladin/Warlock/Warrior/Druid/Mage at one point or another through Retail, although rolling Warlock as my main in Classic. Unfortunately, never really got to do much endgame raiding due to time constraints, but hoping to in Classic.
Have joined the Barrens as a way to become more active in the community.
Outside of WoW, for my sins I live and work in London.
Look forward to getting to know you all!
Aazeo welcome mate, another Londoner! I’m near Arsenal/Tottenham area - you?
Hope you get your community fix reading the forums here
teebling thank you mate!
I’m over in Canada Water - you don’t know whether there are any London WoW meet-ups?

Lovely spot, do you work in the city? No not sought out any info. There’s an esports bar near me on Caledonian Road called Meltdown which runs events and stuff so I’m there often but that’s pretty far from you!
Yeah I work in Bishopsgate, you work in town?
That sounds awesome, will have to look into that!

Far from it I work at sea as a ship’s officer! Been down your ends often to see the Docklands Musum/Greenwich etc which are of great interest to me
Yeah do by all means it’s nothing fancy just a pub with themed drinks and a few LAN PCs for mini tourneys etc. They usually do a night for a game release I missed the wow classic one unfortunately.
