Before #nochanges crew go apeshit and attack me, let me remind you this game was released in 2004 with limited skill and resources. You are crazy if you are against only aesthetic betterment of the game.

1- Everybody is already bored with the soundtracks of vanilla. Most of us disable in-game sounds and play songs in spotify/youtube. WoW Classic should have new soundtracks.
2- Sound effects are very LOW quality for today's standards. They should improve the quality of them or even replace them with new ones if they have better ideas.
3- We need improved character animations (weapon swings, jumping, spell casting etc.). Vanilla has many 'sucky' animations and at best they are outdated. Give us better ones.

I don't know if I'm in minority, but I really like Vanilla as it is. I replay a lot of old games and some age well, some don't. I think WoW aged incredibly well.

However, I was always accepting of others' opinions and if something doesn't hurt me, I'm all for it. Saying that, if improved models/animations/effects and so on are a toggle in settings, go for it.

So first i have to say that i really love the Soundtrack of Vanilla but WoW in general. Second the sounds are mostly what reminds me of a game the most, i mean we all know the jiggle when opening a chest in Zelda Ocarina of time.

When it comes to Grpahic i would be fine if the do optional better ones but after what they did on Retail i have to say that most zones do not fit well with the high poly models. Also the engine really comes to it limits in BFA when a lot of people are in the open world and spam Spells.

First off, what has been datamined from the alpha so far suggests original soundtracks only. Conversely, modern models also exist in the alpha client atm. Not to say thats going to be the case on release but its what we know right now.

Second, you’re not being attacked. But I am going to disagree with you on not only the music but that you imply that you think the aesthetics could be improved. I’m not against a toggle like you said - people can look at modern models if they want - it doesn’t affect my view of the game after all - what I am against is the idea that the game’s graphics could ‘improve’.

This is an authentic remake of Classic. That’s what they said. If you think you are ‘improving’ the game by advocating for better aesthetics you are contradicting the whole idea in the first place. Note the word authentic.

The art department is the one single team that never failed to deliver and only got better if anything. So while I personally dont see a need for change, I would trust Blizzard to make sensible ones in that regard.

Would you change FF7?

Or Baldurs Gate?

Or Warcraft 2?

Nope

So we don’t change WoW :)

I like the idea of having additional soundtracks added in the loop just so there would be more diversity of them.

Stuff like Wind Waker HD or Warcraft 3 Reforged does exist though. Its not like there is no market for that.

This is true, however the originals are still available to play legitimately, the same cannot be said for Vanilla.

In creating classic, they are providing a legitimate way to play. Having the options for upgraded models/gfx is fine, it’s a toggle button and it’s a choice. Forcing players to have new things though is a big no no, when it’s a choice no one gets hurt.

Everybody's entitled to their own opinion, but I'd way rather it be #nochanges. That sort of thing is the same reason I play Old School Runescape and never touch Runescape 3. IMO just because something is old / dated doesn't make it any less enjoyable.

While we're on the topic of updated graphics, I'm going to give my case for the old models:

I'm personally fine with most graphical upgrades being available, but the new character models introduced in WoD weren't made with Vanilla gear in mind. For example, a lot of helms are awkwardly over-sized or don't fit properly (see lower two pictures here). A lot of shoulders have clipping or positioning issues too. If I was still subbed to BfA, I'd be able to go through my transmog and show all the examples I know of . So while I'm fine with a toggle, people should be aware of this if they want a more cohesive art style while they play.
