I was wondering what everyone else is doing for release day / week.
I've heard of people waiting 12 hours after release so they don't have to wait as long.
I've heard of people waiting until a week afterwards to begin so hopefully they won't have to wait in queues.
I've even heard of some people waiting a full month to see how the realms pan out before they commit to one.
I'm personally going full-send on release day. It comes out at 6pm so I'll have all day to prepare food, drinks, and to setup my computer at my friend's place. Him and I are going to no-life it until we have no life left to no-life on release night.
So, when are you all planning to begin your adventure?
I'm in California so launch happens to be 3PM on a Monday over here. I have plenty of vacation time but am electing against taking a week off. I'm just going to be leaving work by 2:30 on that monday and then a little earlier than normal the rest of the week. That weekend is going to be full no-life mode with timers to get up and go lift every few hours to keep the blood flowing.
Be on character selection at 5PM with your friend and DO NOT exit or leave the server for whatever reason.
Don't get caught up in the 6PM log in queue.
It launches at 11PM here which sucks ass but I am taking a week off to play the game so I will pull an all-nighter for launch.
Adrenaline and hype will keep me awake until tuesday bed time...
I'll be on vacation the day servers go live. It'll be roughly 48 hours post launch that I'll actually log in and begin my adventure, so hopefully by then the starting zones aren't a complete mess.

I don't know if you got in on any of the beta or stress test action, but apparently the starting zone respawn timers were broken. There is supposed to be some form of dynamic respawn in the starting zones so things respawn when it's getting slammed. I got in stress test 2 and everything was dead all the time. Dozens of players roaming around the same 4-5 mobs waiting for things to come back to life. Apparently this was broken, and they fixed it. In the final stress test there was no lack of mobs to kill even with more players in the area.
I don't think the starting zones are going to be as big a problem as a lot of people are expecting them to be.
The launch day will be within the week that I have free between university courses, unfortunately at the time of launch I will be in the office, it will be up to 3 or 2 hours later that I can enter, if the waiting lines allow. I hope to spend at least 4 or 5 hours if there are no problems.
Launch is at midnight here. So with 2 friends we’ll going to have a night session. Go to bed in the morning and start playing again in the afternoon. Have a few days off and got permission from the commander in chief (my wife) to go nuts a few days ! 😄
I will login with my main. I will look around. I will take some screenshot. I will cry submerged by feelings/nostalgia. And I will finally embark on the journey I wanted to take in the past 10 years
Launch is at midnight for me. On Tuesday I have to work from 5PM until midnight, and I will be off work on Wednesday the 28th. My hope is I will be able to hit level 10 or very close to it before starting work on Tuesday, so that I can properly start questing with my pet at my side from Wednesday onwards.
I get off work right at launch time so I guess the plan is to hop in the queue as soon as I get home and use that time to make/eat dinner. Hopefully at that point I'll be through and ready to be pushed through the meat grinder at the Den of Trials.
Going to be "taking a half day" on Tuesday after it launches Monday evening so I can get back at it after regularly scheduled maintenance. Just going to do what I did last time; level and fuck off along the way.
Still hoping my 3 name reservations on 3 separate servers pan out. We won't know until we know, how the servers will be.
I'm leaving work an hour early, then playing until about midnight on launch day. I have to work on Tuesday, then I'm free through Monday to go ham.
Get mob tags. Collect XP. Get to 12 and meetup with my cleave team. Grind to 17-19. Get into deadmines. Take all of the XP and gear. Spike ahead of everyone that isnt cleaving or isnt a top end solo-leveler. Repeat this for days. Profit.

Uh, what? I'm in Oregon and unless I missed something, the release date in our timezone is Tuesday the 27th.
