I was wondering, what was the usual tip or payment players would give to other players back in Vanilla for services like Summoning, Alchemy, Transmutation, Refreshment conjuring, Summoning, Portals, etc.?

I think 50s or so for stacks of Water and Food. Never paid for portals. 2-5G for a craft with my mats, 10G if I'm asking for a set. Who the fuck pays for summoning.

It's like the WoW equvialent of "dine and dash" - "Sum and run"...

Depends on what kind of ‘services’ are on offer... Goldshire Inn anyone?

Never go to Moonguard Goldshire at night.
Only madness awaits you there.

Psh, that's why I would NEVER play on such a server as Moonguard. I'd never have all of my mains in retail on that server and play on it for years! What would people think of me?!

Nooo I did not mean it like that. I meant that I never used a portal outside one that was freely created for the raid. 2g for 5 minutes isn't worth it

Well, if you’re a lv20 Warlock getting whispered by a lv60 for a summon, 2g is probably worth it.

Water/Food was always on a tip basis on my server, usually being 20s - 1g depending on stack amount. Portals always used to be 1g - 2g. Arcanite Bar Transmute I think was about 7g+ but also really depended on the person. I suspect someone that was apart of a guild that actually used the daily cooldown would attract a much higher fee.

Can't explain why exactly, yet I was always giving everything for free as a mage back then. Portals, water, cinnamon buns.

Always had this feeling that the universe gives your kindness back to you in a mysterious and unexpected ways. Worked so far.

I used to tip mages about 50s -1g (depending on how wealthy I was at the moment) for a days worth of food. I'd often play AV all weekend and would go through the noms pretty quickly, especially as a warrior.
