Rushing to 60, taking it slow, or somewhere in between

Hi, I was wondering what people here are planning to do?
Are you going to go to 60 as quickly as possible and play a lot the first couple days/weeks.
Are you going to level relatively quickly with the time you can spend on the game.
Or are you just going to take it slow regardless of the time you can spend on the game.

I myself have decided to take it nice and slow. Want to 'push' at first. And wanted to play a shaman and secure my position in a good guild.
But I now decided to, for the first time, play on a RP server and really enjoy every minute of play regardless of the speed I am leveling at.
I am going to be a Tauren Hunter, not the best combination for a push or high end gameplay. Have decided to take a bear pet and am just going to pick the talents I want whether they are the ones that really help me or not. Level op proffesions along the way and also fishing etc. And just take it easy, and roleplay.

Normally I really want to try and play ideally and go by the rules of quick play. But I mostly get burned out once I hit 60 and play at max level for a week. So I want to see if that still happens when I play the game like this.

You've got the right idea. That is the way the game should be enjoyed and I'm doing the same myself.

I want to hit 60 as soon as possible.

I'm not a speed runner. I am amazed by these records of reaching 60 in less than a week but it's something I couldn't pull off. I will hit 60 in < 12 days play time I'm sure... ~ 3-4 weeks.
The reason I'm going all-out to reach 60 after launch is because I have a Warrior to level too. I want a class that can source a good income for my repair bills and guild bank. Come phase 2 I should hopefully be max level when layers are removed.

Too be fair the game should be enjoyed the way a player enjoys himself. (herself)
Some people really take joy in being one of the first of their class to hit level cap, or to be in the top 10 guilds that clear MC first.
So as long as you enjoy yourself you are doing it right.
That said. I always played like the above and thought I enjoyed myself. But am wondering now if I realy was.
We will see.

None of these options fit the way I will play. For one, I won't be "fooling around". I'll be doing a casual balance of questing, leveling professions, exploring, trading on AH, dueling, world PvP, etc. The levels won't come particularly fast, but I'll be enjoying myself and making steady progress at the same time.

Just guessing, but I get the impression that the OP thinks anything that doesn't reward XP quickly is "fooling around".

You are kind of right. I didnt phrase it right. Fooling around is not the right wording for what I meant. Fishing, Cooking, Dueling etc is what falls under that catagory. Anything that does not progress you level wise I guess.

Edited the options to fit what I meant better.

Definitely going to try to experience it as I would've when I was younger. Instead of a mad rush to 60 I'm going to take it a little easy and do things like world pvp and professions and whatnot. Keeping it pretty casual overall.

I have a complex plan that sacrifices leveling a single character in the short term in order to build a decent foundation for raiding in the long term.

I will be speed running to 60 in under 1 week IRL. With a paladin. It will be my fifth 60 paladin, and my 13th 60 overall. My goal is to get server first and make the hunters cry.

I’ll be leveling at my own pace which, based on what my friends say, is kind of hardcore, but not really.

I expect to be 60 in about 2 months, give or take.

Yeh I'm to get to 60 in a couple of months on one of my characters. If my workmates drop off, it will be my druid who will ding 60, if they are committed it will be my shaman who is 60.

I have a personal goal of getting to 60 by early-mid October. That's about as quick as I am willing to "push".

I really enjoy the levelling experience in Classic WoW so I'm in no rush. I'm going to take the time to work on my professions for sure, I plan to spend a few days fishing when I get to level 25 or so as I definitely want to have over 100g before level 40.

I also want to duel as much as I can; I'm picking up a class I've never mained so I have a lot to learn.

Besides that I am just happy we have some servers that aren't going anywhere. I could never invest properly in private servers because I knew at any time my characters could get wiped. So with that in mind I don't feel the need to rush at all.

I plan on hitting 60 when it just comes to be. I'm in a three-man team that will be questing, dungeoning, exploring, crafting, cooking, fishing, and the occasional PvP brawl the whole way to cap. W're excited for end-game too, but we are mostly excited for the adventure of "going home."
