Due to renovating my house I wont be able to join classic from the start. My best bet is it will be october, november.
On one side it feels like a lost. On the other side it might be beneficial in making a better, more thought out pick in EU PvP servers. Hence avoid being stuck with queues or a toxic community.
Time will tell!
Other peeps starting later due to other circumstances?!
There will always new players coming to classic and most people will not hit max level in the first 2-4 months so you will never be to late.
I'm not but my play availability will fall off a cliff going into september with grad school. I'm playing on an RP server under the assumption, with some data to back it up, the community there will be way more casual. Might be worth thinking about if you do get into the game late.

I guess the first six months will be like that. I am by no means a min-max hardcore raider. Those days are over. A wife, 2 sons and a full time job & sports make me a very dirty casual
The wait is a pain but doable.
I didnt start vanilla, when it was current, at launch day and I it worked out fine for me!
You get the benefit of getting help from other people/friends, the auction house with be flourishing and if your relal lucky by the time you get to 60 and join a guild that does MC, maybe you get handed purples lol

By than I probably can make a more balanced choice werther to go druid tank or rogue. Perhaps the old opinions of druids being useless have faded and they actually are raid viable.
Of not than I probably go orc rogue.

Druid very viable in raids! If you wanna be druids be druid!
Don't trip about missing the launch. Only reason to stick yourself through login queue hell right now is to try and keep up with the progression guys. If you join in a few months then you get the benefit of stable servers, no queues, and a more mature economy. It's probably a better environment for a casual player by then anyway.

Thx for the replies. Confirms my ideas, and soothes the pain of not being able to hop on the band wagon from the get-go.
Cheers
With the queue times that are happening not many people will be playing before november.

*Caperfin wonders if he should mention that rogues can tank...
I am more than sure druids can actually decently tank. Rogues on that matter, nay sir!

I was about to chime in how warlocks can tank too, did some quick google searching for some off-hand reference to link to, and stumbled across a guide you yourself wrote on the subject. I guess you already know this since you wrote the book on the matter
I'm gonna read through it for the hell of it while I wait my ass in queue. I had only heard rumors of warlock tanks in passing in the past. Might as well see what it's all about.
