Since Classic got announced I always imagined that I would play NE Priest and I was hyped to do it. I even convinced my fiancee to help me farm gold for my epic nightsaber! I was soo hyped to level up in Westfall and Duskwood again!
But last week I met my buddies from high school and it turns out they will play Classic too - but as Orcs and Undeads! What the heck should I do? It's a pretty big group of 7 people.

Go Horde of course! You wont want to miss a beat of Barrens chat, and Chuck Norris Jokes. (Anyone remember those?)
All in all the Horde have a great leveling experience I personally think. Ganking Alliance is funner than you think!

To be honest, I would also choice horde if my friends went it... But purely due to the friends, the social aspect for me out weights everything else. You will regret having to reroll from alliance to horde, once you find out you care more about playing with friends than playing as a night elf.

And most importantly don't forget. This game especially Vanilla is experienced best with your buddies. Hands down... I don't think anybody will argue that.

Ah, I see someone beat me to that point. ^ Good advice..

As an Alliance player I feel your pain. That being said, if it was me, I'd probably go Horde. Classic is an MMO, much more so than retail, and gets exponentially more enjoyable when played with friends.

Playing with friends is the best you can do. You can still roll on alliance side if on RP or PvE realm or roll on a different realm if PvP when you have spare time.

My experience with people I know in game and irl is that they usually are very hyped about some game and then quit after a few months out of boredom or because real life gets in the way. Thus I personally do not expect them to be around for a long time and will be finding a nice guild and make new friends online. Which is what classic is about anyway!

This time around I will be rolling horde for classic for nostalgia mostly, but the most probably thing it will happen is that sometime along the line I will also make an ally character to experience the other side. *cof* Winterspring Frostsaber *cof*

You will regret not playing with your friends, especially as a group. Aesthetics are fun and fancy but I cant imagine listening to those guys talk about their adventures on discord or when we hungout and being left out because you wanted to play as an elf. Who cares if you are an elf? I've played both sides but friends are what makes the game worth playing. I'm sure it isnt ideal, but you can always make an alt Nelf priest, Classic will be around for a long time.

We have a similar issue with our group. 1 guy wants to play shaman and 1 wants to play paladin. Ultimately there is no question that we will all end up rolling together though.

Most of my friends are Alliance so I don't have hard time choosing in that regard but it is always tough choice if there is big split like 50% wants to go this and the other 50% wants to go the other faction. I would always go with friends and I enjoy both factions a lot anyways. The Shaman alt is very tempting to this day.

Having 7 people to play with is more important than Night elf!
Undead priests are really cool! But if you dont like the unliving, Trolls are awesome and have fun lore plus start with orcs!
Imagine once your 60 you theoretically will be able to do dungeons whenever with people you know and hopefully good instead of pugging it and have no idea what will happen, bad players, ninjas, players leaving to either never finish the dungeon or waiting forever to find replacement!

On the other side your 7 friends my only play till like level 32 and vanish to never play classic again.
And now your a race/faction you didnt want to play.

A dilemma it is lol make sure your friends are in it for the long haul before committing to being Horde!
If they are go with them! more opportunities to progress!

Guess what?

Night elves are evolved Trolls that mutated from the powers of the Well of eternity,
You can play as a Troll priest and pretend that you're an elf.

It's not my first choice either. My first choice is Human Warrior and Gnome Mage
While I'm playing them I would like to also heal with a troll priest.

Raptors are cooler than the tigers anyway.

Definitely roll with your friends when you have the option, this is a multiplayer game and having a core group of friends to play with will make everything easier and more fun in general. Granted, as a Priest you probably will not have any problems getting pick up groups for dungeons or anything but it is nice having a group ready to go for content. Unfortunately the best Horde Night Elf substitute you have pre-Burning Crusade are Trolls which are not ideal but have the added bonus of riding rad dinosaurs.

Sael Are you talking about your fiancee helping you through account sharing or by playing with you side by side? It changes the question a lot.

Definitely roll a horde toon to play with your friends, and make a nelf priest alt to play any time your friends are not around. Problem solved.
