I would be pretty surprised if you can get from Dun Morogh to Menethil in 5 mins. Don't worry, I am all for early exploration and I can see the benefits, but I think you might have a bit longer of a run than 5 minutes. There will be quite a few deaths running through Dun Algaz and Wetlands.
Or you can skip Dun Algaz and Wetlands altogether.

I hearth back to Kharanos at 8 or so, head east, do Vagash and Lost Pilot, and nab Loch FP then OMW back to Elwynn.

Sounds efficient and very planned out! Do you do any killing/grinding on any of the runs?
Between 1 and 10, only kills are 4 elites and enough spiders to finish "Webwood Venom" quest to unlock the crown of the earth exploration questline.
I'm gonna assume during legit launch, I'll kill any mob I can reasonably kill along the way, but that's all bonus, IMO. The grinding starts at 11/12 or so.
Leaderboards updated. Sorry for the delay, I thought I could improve my time a little today but I was too greedy twice (once about 10 minutes from the end..) and wasted ~3 hours. Pace has improved, though. :mrgreen:

I am yet to level a hunter to level 60 as a speed run. I only have one that reached level 30. Other hunters have been used to test stuff along the way.
Fastest mage is 5 days 6 hours, fastest warrior is 5 days 8 hours.
However, this time i will actually do propper speed running, with an thoroughly planned and praticed route. This is also the reason I am now playing a hunter, as i am not confident in doing so on a mage, if the goal is a server first.

IIRC Elysium has a fresh launch soon, that might be something to check out if you want to practice with the zerg.
O.o That's actually perfect. At least to test out my 1-10 fedex route. The whole purpose of that is to avoid the zerg right off the bat. Gonna be interesting to see average 1-10 speeds on a fresh launch as a benchmark. If it's anything like K3 was, could be interesting.
I'll be running to 40 on the fresh launch and recording data for xp rates and times; I'll be more than happy to compare notes with you on performance differences between launch levelling/grinding and launch fedex!

I have a guide coming out soon, there will be a 1-19 out early for our patrons and a full 1-60 guide before classic launches.
I do have vids but don't upload them because Blizz has been heavy with the banhammer of late.
I know exactly what you mean about going Darkshore to eastern kingdoms. I recommend sticking to Darkshore until 20 then using cheetah to expedite travel to redridge :)

What is your exact issues with transitioning from darkshore?
Hey guys, so after some procrastination, I made time for practicing my leveling route and damn I got hooked fast. I've been playing WoW for ages but I've never really put time into any kind of leveling optimization, so I wanted to give it a try as a preparation for the Classic launch. The gnome mage video is really well done, I finally found some great spirit ress skips and everything is really efficient (this easily beats the speed of Joanna's guide for reference, at least at its current state). Since gnome mage is what I plan to main when Classic comes, I used it as the main routing source.
First I did 2 runs to get to know the quests and remember the routing, then around 10 attempts that got deleted in the progress, pretty much did some crucial mistake like dying in bad spot or I screwed it up too early. Tried again today since I had free evening and hit bingo at around 5th run. Everything went well except for some micro/routing errors and once I died and lost like a minute and half - But all in all I finally landed at 1 hour 35 minutes! For reference, my first 1-10 run ended at 2 hours and 30 minutes and while I was stopping every now and then to read the guide and made quite some mistakes, I still tried to go as fast as possible. It's pretty funny how much time you can cut off - Even at just level 10, you can have a whopping 1 hour lead on people that are still trying to go fast, but dont have the route practiced.
Anyways, just wanted to share this with someone since it made me happy and I've been lurking on this thread for a while. For information, the run was done on Lightbringer (not Northdale). Next up is 10-20, mostly waiting for the author of the video to publish his 10-20 run since he promised to work on it soon, so hopefully I'll post some more times in the near future :)

E: glad to have someone here working on Mage, didn’t seem to be getting any love from us. Perhaps I’ll give a Gnome run a go sometime soon. I would recommend doing your own 10-20 route and see how it’s stacks up when the 1:25 guy posts his.
