That run died because god mode was on and i couldn't die (didn't know what it was at the time) i think it was just slightly over that, the 1-20 run i did today i got 1h 54m for level 10, managed to get to 10 before moving on to Vagash & the Quarry to save some time for the 1-20

i'll record the next run if you've interested in looking at the route, if you're going for a 1-10 time Night Elf seems to be the best for that, but i'm convinced Dwarf is the best for a 1-20 run.

Yea the add on is looking good, this is like 2 years work on and off, all the hard part is all done, all i need to do now is just make the maps, it's a complete 1-60, tested it on Light's Hope & Northdale like 10 60's and like 20-30 others where i got to like Level 20 or 30, it's a not a 'speed run' guide per say because i include all the dungeons worth doing, group quests ect, and take in the fact that leveling on a 'real' server you don't have countless mobs to kill with no competition

Got my first level 10 sub 2hr run today!

Gnome Mage to level 10 in 1Hr 44Min 14 Sec on Lightbringer. Would have been maybe 10 mins or more faster if I didn't get caught off guard by those annoying Bonesnapper Troggs...

Next time ;)

EDIT: Looks like I failed to properly insert the screenshot for proof! I'll do it later once I'm off the network at the office, Imgur be blocked.

Hey everyone, keep up the great work!

Question: anyone incorporating windshear mine in stonetalon into their grind? curious as no one seems to use or mention it. Too dangerous with the mob density? (like boulderslide ravine is always a pain for me)

I have done 1-30 twice now, improving each time, but i REALLY feel like I hit the wall at level 28 or so. I want to stay in kalimdor, but is it worth it to go to hillsbrad at 28 to reach 30? is that faster than just grinding in 1k needles?

Thanks in advance for any tips and guidance!

Orc Shaman, Repack, 1 Hour 27 Minutes 14 Seconds, looks like a 3rd place finish, might have to go Tauren next time to beat Colroyds 1h 14m.. insane time, i think i could save 1-2 Minutes with a perfect run but i don't think i can compete with Colroyds time with Orc.

I'm actually happy to see so many people are interested in speedrunning!

Two questions:

1) If I die, I log out, delete my character, and reset. Does anyone else do this?

2) Has anyone tested 1-12 in Durotar, then moved to Silverpine? Is there any truth to this route being faster due to congestion in the Barrens?

With the beta starting and release date announced, I thought it would be a good idea to crowdsource all the things we want to be tested regarding the differences between private servers and WoW Classic. The spreadsheet is editable by everyone, so feel free to add anything you want on there! If any of you know anyone who is participating in the beta, feel free to forward some of the questions to them if they are willing to verify it.

Right Tauren is definitely a whole lot faster, sorry Colroyds but you're time at the top is coming to an end! Mark my words.

@Cielos I always restart after a death if it's not planned as a graveyard jump, i've not done any major testing with going Silverpine after Durotar but i honestly don't think it's worth it, you need to be in the Barrens anyway to move onto Stonetalon and then onto Ashenvale, all my Horde runs finish at 60 never entering Silverpine, although i think you could make a point that it's less crowded and therefore could be faster in some cases but if you're a fast mob tagger that doesn't make much difference anyway.

Depends on how far you are, or what your target is, where you die etc.

For a 1-10 i might do if i die. However past that i dont really see the purpose. Doing a 1-60 with a single unintentional death seems unlikely to me.

We had a nice run boys. Big thanks to everyone who played along and good luck to everyone who continues to fine tune their routes and push their times moving towards launch. Unfortunately, the date they have chosen is not going to work (at all) for me. That’s life. Considering the timing I’d have to start actually leveling at least 1-2 months behind everyone and WoW is a lot to keep up with so I don’t think I will be playing at all. This thread is also a lot to manage (and there’s a good chance people will be even more motivated to practice now) and I don’t have motivation to personally keep running so I’m going to be stepping down from updating. If anyone has interest in managing entries please post here or message teebling— I’m sure he’d be happy to accommodate.

Thanks teebling for the amazing community and all the hard work you continuously put in to push it further. Thanks Colroyds for being bae when it comes to horde routing, this guy is actually ridiculous (sorry GoT didn’t work out..). Thanks everyone else for sharing your runs and motivating me to push my own times, good luck!

Hey Jp, I’m real sorry to hear that you won’t be playing. Perhaps after a month or two of respite you might feel differently? Who knows!

Thank YOU for constantly updating the leaderboards and fostering a genuine little speedrunning communtiy here on the site. Definitely one of the coolest and most spontaneous things that has happened here to date! Totally understand that your position and just grateful for everything you’ve done. Legend!

Like Jpy says this doesn’t have to be the end for the leaderboards, if you want to step up and take over the management then please PM me and I’ll give you authorship of the first post in the thread.

Jpy hope to see you around in the future. Come back and say hi every now and again will ya??

Very sad Jpy... hopefully you can find some reasons to play still. I'm sure speedrunning will take on its on form at some point later into classic.

Here's a full 1-10 run on the actual Classic alpha, done by a streamer/youtuber who attended the recent media summit:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCj_kverRhM

Apparently health/mana regen on Classic is noticeably slower on Classic compared to private servers. Also increased mean time to kill on mobs because of armour/resistance values.
Thought this might be valuable for you guys.
