I remember approaching the gates of Stormwind for the very first time and spending several hours walking around and talking to people, and exploring the many corners of the city. I think I was a very low level human warrior. I remember being absolutely stunned that I was able to fully explore an entire city in a game - a living, breathing, bustling city, and I could explore it all.

What's your fondest memory of World of Warcraft?

Im not sure about fondest, but one of my most memorable would be running though Deadwind pass for the first time. Everything was normal, then I hit there and the atmosphere hit me like a brick. There was not any mobs on my journey though that could hit me let alone kill me, but I was more cautious going though there than when pulling while leveling for my first couple of times though

Oh this is an easy one for me.

I met some random level 60 warlock dude who boosted me through deadmines on my first character (a Mage called ‘skankyho’). He was a laugh to play with. Took me back to Stormwind and showed me the under stormwind bug, then we met up with his guildmates and went to the top of a cliff looking over the city and literally watched the sun setting and just talked shit.

Eventually joined his guild ‘OAP Club’ and had many fond memories of playing with that group of people.

Also crafting Sulfuras almost by accident on a level 80 Paladin in WOTLK was a good memory. Had been solo farming MC just for the Hydraxian rep and on my third rag kill the Eye dropped (!!!). Looked it up because I had no idea what it was and then the ball dropped lol. Made the hammer and then also farmed the Judgement set from BWL etc. This was before transmog.

Much later in Warlords I got a RL friend into the game and we both rolled hunters and levelled up exclusively in WSG/AB. Fucking wrecking evvvverything almost every game.

So many more memories but yeah that’s some of the most poignant for me anyway.

Can't think of any in particular right now, just the ones where I was a complete tard.

Several days after starting my game, I don't remember why exactly but I got really mad at someone from a guild called "The Cult of Arkvoodle" or something like that - after a guy named Arkvoodle. That person called me a noob or something so I thought I would challenge and humiliate him by doing /yell in Silvermoon City so that everyone could hear me. I was so proud of myself that he was cowardly enough not to answer my request to duel him. I was a level 8 Priest.

Then of course being unable to find my corpse on my way back to WC. I thought my character was lost forever when I couldn't find the spirit healer nor the entrance.

I remember thinking Orgrimmar was enemy territory because of the spikes.

Being summoned to TK for the first time, hearing my guild master yell 2 minutes later "why the fuck are you hugging the mob?" and dying moments after.

For me, probably the first time I got into the game. Character creation itself was very memorable for me. The first time I experienced the lush green and cozy atmosphere of Teldrassil. The peaceful ambient sounds combined with the soundtrack and the familiar vibe coming from WC3.

Probably getting that first shoulderpiece from just killing stuff in Barrens while leveling. That still got me more excited than any sweet purp or any other drop

Either that or just the memory of doing random stuff in the game in the middle of the night with friends, talking shit, having a few laughs and having no worries that school is a few hours away.

I'm a night elf hunter, I find a new piece of equipment. It has more armour so I equip it.

any large, low level pvp battles without 60 mages to ruin it. Ashenvale beach, defending x-roads, raiding redridge. Gathering up all the levellers in shimmering flats to hunt down the pair that have been ganking everyone.

The first time I flew from Crossroad back to Thunder Bluff via wyvern. It really gave me the idea that this world was HUGE (never opened the world map till much more later, didn't know there was a key for that :D): seeing all the path I covered with sweat and blood passing again below me in like 1 minute was strange; and seeing mountains in the distance was like "What will be beyond those?". It really gave me goosebumps :-)

I'll never forget the Molten Core pug we arranged, some hunter was salty about losing a roll for the only item he'd come for so in his cunning he decided to ninja pull the next boss and laugh as the whole raid wiped.

Only problem was he left the raid group just before he did it and the boss killed only him and then reset.

I've never laughed so much in my life.

What's your fondest memory of World of Warcraft?

My first memory of ever seeing World of Warcraft was when I visited my brother (I was young) and I saw on his monitor that he was levelling in Thousand Needles, an undead rorgue.

The same weekend I got to make my own character on his account, and I made a gnome warrior because I was fond of the hobbits in Lord of the Rings movies.

So my fondest memory of World of Warcraft comes from when I started up my own character and started levelling, with a bit of guidance. The amazing part was when I reached the gates of Ironforge and got amazed of the gate and the statue inside. I must have spent 10 minutes just looking at the gate, and around the gate before I ventured inside—which got me even more mindblown.

So that is my first and fondest memory.
