Warlords wasn't 9 years ago
Beats me. I have a full toon list and all of them are 80+. Many are raid geared from various xpacs, some are just free boosts that I never logged into. I cant think of any that really mean anything to me. My private server characters mean a hell of a lot more to me than anything I have in retail.
I was never an Alt-oholic.
I only have like 4 characters I played though out the 15 years of WoW.
My Vanilla Priest and Rogue.
Wrath Mage and Legion Warlock.
They will stay in retail and I will try and recreate/make new memories with those characters in Classic!
Do you realize we are less than 2 weeks out! The fudge covered Ice Cream is going on! Its sooooo soooooon!
Heading to Ironforge as an undead warlock and pretend I am a dwarf....ill explain to the guards i was a dwarf before i was killed on the battlefield...thats why i look like this...sorry rambling...

ICE CREAM CONFIRMED
I've had the same Tauren Warrior since Vanilla, and I plan to go back to him from time to time. Aside from that, I don't really care about the dozens of other toons I've dicked around with from time to time.
The expansions after Cata caused me to care less and less about my retail characters. And jumping from fresh server to fresh server since 2010 for vanilla servers desensitized me from attachment.
I just look forward to the new friends I'll make and continuing past friendships on fresh content.
I think I'll still be playing enough to not "leave" anyone behind (at least not forever) but I will be missing my old guildies and friends from retail, most of whom aren't interested in classic :'c
A few friends won't be playing Classic, and quite a few of them are going to PvE realms. I'll be leaving too many behind sadly, and I wish it was another way. As for characters, i've switched mains a few times over the years, i'm still attached to all of them but I won't mind leaving them behind for a while. I'm leaving behind my goal of never missing Ahead of the Curve achievements (killing a Heroic raid end-boss before the next raid comes out), I gave up on Queen Azshara to focus on Classic, researching and making sure I know what i'm doing, and i'll of course miss multiple raid tiers.
I'm leaving behind my love of the constantly evolving changing story, I was still deeply engaged in what was happening in Battle for Azeroth. The story has gotten really funky, but i'm a huge nerd and I still enjoyed the twists and turns for the most part. Wrathion is finally making a return, and it looks like we'll be going to the Dragon Isles in the near future. But oh well, Classic is where my home will be, and i've accepted and embraced that.
