WTB name: Bandos on Herod

Don't do it. It's honestly not worth it. Someone is going to ask for an insane price for it. Just find another name you love.

I didn't opt to use my usual handle of Justbe mainly because I didn't think it suited an RPG character very well.

If you are really stuck on your decision, sure, buy it. It's your money. But just realize that someone can easily screw you out of it, not to mention if that person deletes his character what's to say that someone else wouldn't snatch it up faster than you could take it. You never know.

If it makes you feel any better I didn't get any of the three names I wanted but I had backups that I could live with.

I mean you'll never know unless you ask or even find the guy in the first place. Doesn't hurt to try. Guy tries to rip you off? Just pick another name, no harm no foul.

Not everyone is aware of it. You can sell character names for gold and the likes in-game but not for anything out of Blizzards eco system.

Actually I'd even argue that this isn't against any 'you can't sell characters for money' rules. There is no sale or transfer of character happening. Just:

No transfer of passwords or login credentials happening. Throw some money on top of it or whatever and it's still not selling a character.

In my mind here is how it would work.

"Hey man, I will give you money for that character name."

"Ok. Here is my paypal account, and here is my discord where we can coordinate."

Both of you logon. You open the character creation screen type in the name, pay him HALF of the fee (unless he disagrees and says he will only do it for all of the fee up front), wait for him to confirm he has deleted the character over discord, instantly make your character before someone snatches the name.

Hope to god he doesn't rip you off.

I've sold names like Ninja, Bandit, War, Blood in the past... They have fetched ridiculous amounts of gold. I have never sold one prelaunch though, so I'm not sure how they would host the transaction or what a fair price would be...

Best of luck getting Bandos OP! Worst case you can always wait 6 months and ask Blizz to free it up. Hopefully your nemesis has quit playing by then and they may be willing to free it up for you.
