I wanna become the richest bear-durid on the entire server.
And by rich I mean filthy rich!
My goals literally just changed today. I decided I might as well try to make a guild from scratch to do raids the whole way up, which will be a challenge because I've never been a gm before but I thought I might as well try it out
My goal is a large one, I want to get a Black Qiraji Battle Tank (becoming a Scarab Lord). I will be leading a horde guild to achieve this goal, which is taking it all to the extreme. I plan to go all the way to Naxx, but that mount is my true goal. I hope it'll all be worth it in the end!
My plan is to level an Enhancement Shaman tank, commiting to the path from level 1, grabbing possible item / consumable to aid my epic journey!
Tanking has been my prefered role since WotLK (when I really started playing), but I have no interest in Warrior (anymore) or Druid, and Pally is off-limits due to inferior faction. :P

Keep us posted on how this turns out, im genuinely interested. And best of luck.

I'll see what I can do! Glad to see interest is some quirkier ideas that are often shunned in an echo chamber! I've heard it to be possible with some extra effort, so I will be giving it my all. :D

I'm all for it if the people are aware of the challenge. You sound like you have a good grasp on some of the obstacles you will face, so I'm all for watching people try and make something work. I typically only step in if a new player is asking about some of these oddball builds etc, I think these are better suited for players like yourself that are consciously choosing the path less traveled and all that comes with it.

You raise a good point; it can be hard to know the skill level and mindset of a player when they're talking about these kinds of things. I agree that it shouldn't be encouraged to newer players.
I am so excited to use "immolation aura flasks" (I forget the real name) and rejuvination potions to keep AoE threat up, and to balance my build for all the things I want. The concept of squeezing out value from every inch of the game makes me giddy. Cookie-cutter builds/playstyles (in all games) to me, are uninteresting. I love to set arbitrary boundaries and do all I can within that to find success.
Admittedly, my knowledge of Vanilla is not so extensive (because I was eight years old xd), but I am one to research something as much as possible before diving in, then making personal tweaks as I go. I am confident that I will be giving this a fair trial, and should I be incapable of adequate performance, I will humbly seek another path.
Aside from the usual goals of getting to 60 and acquiring good gear etc. I want to use Classic as a way to do some self improvement (as well as having loads of fun of course).
I've played WoW for years, mainly in TBC, Cata and vanilla private servers since WoD but the one thing I have always had a bad time with is PvP. Simply because I didn't know how to get better at it really, but it meant that I always shied away from duels and fights in the open world as much as possible and my brief forays into BG's and Arena were nothing special, not bad but again not outstanding - and that was the problem.
I have an obsessive personality and an intense desire to be competent at whatever it is I am doing. In the past I have beaten myself up unceasingly for not meeting the high standards that I set for myself in just about everything I've endeavored to do in life; sometimes I'd be unable to leave the house for days after my frustrations had reached boiling point. To clarify: I am not overly competitive, it's more to do with me deriving my enjoyment from being very capable, and if I can't do something well then I'd spit out my dummy and refuse to do it. That's how it has been for me trying to PvP in WoW over the years.
So here I am, rolling a class I've never mained before (Rogue) with a goal to focus on world PvP. I've been working hard on my personality the past few years and I am much calmer now, thankfully, but this is still a great opportunity to learn something new and I will be seeing every fight/duel/BG as a chance to learn and improve, WIN OR LOSE.
Clear MC and BWL with my new guildees of RL pals and my wife (she started playing in Wrath and never saw Vanilla for what it was)
Grand Marshall rank.
full bloodfang (eventually)
Have fun and get nostalgic!

Good luck to you sir.
Grand Marshall rank.
Do you realize how commited and time consuming this is? We are not talking about solo queueing in BGs etc for months, we are talking full guild groups with endless grinds for months. It is impossible to this this alone and you can say goodbye to any kind of raiding and other activities that are not PvP related.
Complete as many long quest chains as possible, and see the real Blizz scripting for parts that were missing on private servers.

Yup! I did it in vanilla ^_^
First of all i want to get a full T 0.5 Shadowcraft because i was missing 3 pieces on the set in vanilla. Then i want to grind to rank 10 for full blue gear like i did last time. Hopefully il find a nice horde guild on an EU server to do some raiding and pvp with. This time arround im not 18 but 33 so dont have the same amount of time to play :)
