Council of Dornogal Renown Guide

The Council of Dornogal is one of the four primary factions on the continent of Khaz Algar. They govern the Earthen on the Isle of Dorn. The council itself consists of a handful of Councilwards with seats in Foundation Hall, but most Earthen on the Isle are members of this faction. The faction was added to the game with The War Within and is the first one that players encounter on the continent.

How to Get Council of Dornogal Reputation

To gain Renown with the Council of Dornogal, you’ll first need to unlock the faction for your Warband by completing the Khaz Algar main story campaign through the quest Impossible Odds. This quest is required to unlock the faction, but once it is unlocked you will not need to unlock it again for any of your characters. This quest is completed early in the campaign, right after you arrive in the city of Dornogal.

There are 25 ranks of Renown, each with their own rewards. Each level of Renown requires 2500 points of reputation with the faction. To see your current progress, open the Khaz Algar Summary by clicking on the icon in your minimap, then click on Council of Dornogal. You can hover over the faction icon at the top of the window to see your current progress. You can also open the Reputation tab of your Character window (default hotkey U) and hover over Council of Dornogal there under The War Within.

Once you have unlocked the faction for your Warband, there are several ways to increase your reputation with the Council of Dornogal:

• Completing standard quests on the Isle of Dorn
• Killing rare spawns on the Isle of Dorn
• Locating the five lore objects for Khaz Algar Lore Hunter on the Isle of Dorn
• Completing the Theater Troupe World Event on the Isle of Dorn
• Completing World Quests for the faction in the Isle of Dorn
• Completing any World Quests in Khaz Algar while Contract: Council of Dornogal is active

Note that only the World Quests and Theater Troupe event are repeatable for earning reputation.

Isle of Dorn Quests

Many quests across the Isle of Dorn provide Council of Dornogal reputation when completed for the first time on your Warband. These quests will be the quickest way to get started with the faction, but you will eventually run out of quests and will need to farm reputation through the other activities listed below.

Isle of Dorn Rare Spawns

Many rare spawns throughout the zone provide reputation with Council of Dornogal when killed. They grant 150 reputation each, but only once per week. You can see all of their locations in our Khaz Algar Rare Locations & Achievements Guide.

Isle of Dorn Lore Objects

Five of the lore objects required for the Khaz Algar Lore Hunter achievement can be found on the Isle of Dorn. Each of these five discoveries grants 250 reputation with Council of Dornogal when clicked. You can see all of their locations in our Khaz Algar Lore Hunter Achievement Guide.

Council of Dornogal World Quests

There are many World Quests scattered across the Isle of Dorn that award reputation with Council of Dornogal. They will be marked for the faction when you hover over them on your map. We have walkthroughs for all of these quests in our Isle of Dorn World Quests Guide.

Theater Troupe World Event

The Theater Troupe event requires character level 80 and Renown level 3 with Council of Dornogal to unlock. The weekly quest for this event is The Theater Troupe, which you can pick up from Stage Manager Huberta at the Proscenium (56.4, 51.4). As you earn renown with the Council of Dornogal, you’ll unlock some helpful bonuses for this event. These can be found in the Content Unlocks section near the end of this guide.

Contract: Council of Dornogal

Contract: Council of Dornogal is a crafted item that you can use once a week. When used, your entire Warband will gain 15 reputation with Council of Dornogal every time you complete a world quest in Khaz Algar. The contract expires with the weekly reset.

This item can be crafted with the Inscription profession. You’ll need at least level 80 in Khaz Algar Inscription and rank 5 with the faction to craft it. Technique: Contract: Council of Dornogal can be purchased from the Council of Dornogal quartermaster with 150 Artisan’s Acuity. Here are the ingredients to make the contract:

• 25x Apricate Ink
  • 20x Distilled Algari Freshwater
    • Purchased from Kardu in Dornogal (48.6, 70.8)
  • 5x Luredrop Pigment
    • Milled from Luredrop x10
  • 10x Nacreous Pigment
    • Milled from Mycobloom x10
• 1x Fresh Parchment
  • Purchased from Kardu in Dornogal (48.6, 70.8)

Council of Dornogal Quartermaster

You’ll find Auditor Balwurz, the Renown Quartermaster for Council of Dornogal, inside Foundation Hall in the city of Dornogal. He’s on the platform up the stairs at the back of the room (39.1, 24.2).

Council of Dornogal Rewards

Earning Renown with the Council of Dornogal unlocks access to rewards and content in Khaz Algar for your entire Warband.

Vendor Rewards

The following rewards can be purchased from Auditor Balwurz at the appropriate Renown level.

Currency Rewards

Periodically as you level up your renown, you’ll be able to visit Auditor Balwurz to turn in quests that grant currency rewards. Be sure to check in with him every so often so you don’t miss anything.

Content Unlocks

You’ll also unlock content as you level up your renown, including the Theater Troupe World Event and a new title for your characters.
