Sha of Anger – 20th Anniversary World Boss

Welcome to our World Boss Guide for Sha of Anger in the 20th Anniversary Event! This boss is new to the event in 2024, although it has been around since the Mists of Pandaria expansion. It has been transported from Kun-Lai Summit to the sands of Tanaris for World of Warcraft’s Anniversary.

This World Boss is required for the achievement The Gatecrashers.

Sha of Anger Location

The Sha of Anger is located south of The Noxious Lair in Tanaris (33.9, 55.8). The best way to reach Tanaris is by heading to the portal room in your faction’s capital city and taking the portal to Caverns of Time.

Sha of Anger Abilities & Strategy

This Elemental boss from the Mists of Pandaria expansion has somehow made its way from Kun-Lai Summit to Tanaris. It has 633 million health and is one of the two new bosses for the anniversary event in 2024.

Endless Rage: Deals AoE damage and spawns a black cloud of Bitter Thoughts at a targeted location.
Bitter Thoughts: Standing in one of the black clouds it spawns will prevent you from taking any actions.
Seethe: A stacking DoT it puts on the tank, causing them to take increasing damage as the fight goes on.
Growing Anger: When the Sha casts this, the targeted player and anyone nearby will be mind controlled by the Aggressive Behavior debuff. Spread out to avoid many people being hit by this.
Aggressive Behavior: The Sha will mind control random players, who will have a damage and health buff. The effect stops when they drop below half health.
Unleashed Wrath: An AoE attack that requires healing through.

Sha of Anger Loot

Sha of Anger drops the same loot it did in Mists of Pandaria, but they have been upgraded for modern WoW. This includes the Reins of the Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent mount as well as Tier 14 gloves and leg pieces and Malevolent Gladiator hands, waist, feet, wrist, back, rings, and neck pieces. The leveled-up versions of these items will not have any of their original set bonuses.
