Nerub’ar Palace: The First Raid in The War Within

The next WoW expansion, The War Within, is coming to World of Warcraft, and our first raid of this new expansion will be called Nerub’ar Palace.

Nerub’ar Palace will be found in one of the new zones, Azj-Kahet, and will contain 8 bosses. The raid will largely feature Nerubian enemies, the spider-like creatures that populate the zone, who have allied themselves with Xal’atath.

We got a glimpse of a rough map of the raid, which contains some interesting features, such as a “Traversal Fishing Line.” Morgan Day, Associate Game Director for WoW, walked us through the layout:

Soon after entering the raid, you’ll fall into a giant pit of “black blood of the Old God,” which we’ll learn more about in the Azj-Kahet zone
You’ll then battle your way through the Harvest Pits, where there are several bosses
You’ll make your way back up through the Stalactite Wing (which isn’t the final name)
Finally you’ll enter the queen’s inner sanctum, where you’ll fight the end boss

It’s still very early in development, so we expect we’ll see more about this first raid of The War Within as we get closer to the expansion’s release next fall.
